I played the xbox demo of Ashlands Retribution on XLIG.
It's a facinating Asteroids based concept, with twin sticks.
Each chunk of asteroid destroyed releases a pod which can either be used as a more powerful shot (1 shot for each pod) or can be saved up. Saving up 35 gives a destroy everything in your path smash move. Saving up 50 gets you a bomb.
Controls are intuitive and work.
Occassionally due to the way they spawn, I'd miss something spawning on top of me, even though they are marked out by a giant closing red circle!! It gets pretty hectic at times.
During play, you pick up XP which can be used to "augment" your ship, so progessive play alters the way the game plays. I would have liked to sample this in the demo.
Fans of twitch arcade shooters will enjoy this I think.
