    Jump All-Stars Victory VS+ [PS4] review

Strange release in the west given the amounts of licenses involved so they never usually leave japan. The game itself is Gundam Vs like (3rd person, lockon fighting in an arena) 2v2 fighter using classic characters from famous shows like One Piece, Dragon Ball and few not so well known like Assassination Classroom, Bobobo and Madoka.

Combat pretty simple, i don't think you find the depth of strategy found in Gvs games but it fun enough, you have weak, Strong attacks which can be mixed up into different combos (from runs and jumps as well), a special attack button which gives the character 2 signature moves (luffy has Gatling and Bazooka), block which also mods the attacks for guards break, throws and total defences. Everything outside weak and strong attacks are limited in actions to a stamina bar to stop abuse which can be over-charged to allow powers-up like luffy 2nd-gear(which goes into Haki mode after that) without need to Burst. Burst is the super attack built up from successful attacks and knockouts, this will mod all the normal attacks and specials along with new animations (and for some they characters "level-up" to a temporary super mode), tapping it again unleashes a massive attack. Support attacks can be called in as well and make up most of the obscure cast.

the Arenas themselves usually made up of buildings which can all be jumped on and completely destroyed.

Graphics are still Ps3 level, sound is all Japanese mostly ripped from the anime if one exists (like Koro sensei has a original VA as the game was made before the anime), music is all original stuff as well but made to sound like it would have belong in whatever universes map your playing on.

Single player stuff see you sailing around a grand-line like world of all of jumps universes and the goal is to win a tournament which takes place around various places which are progress blocked to upgrading your ship to things like flying, usually done from completing side quests to get items, which involve fighting some "copies" of all the characters the god of the game made to keep it interesting.

All the but 4 characters are locked on a new game which is annoying.. i mainly came to it for the fan service (which is pretty good) so you need to put time in single player modes to get points to buy the main characters and support cast. If you like anime/manga and especially the more iconic shows over the last 2/3 decades then like me you probably come for the fan service rather than the gameplay which is plain average, which i can overlook when you the likes of Gintoki's running animation is him whipping out that white moped while shinpachi plays the straight man questioning with disbelieve why Gintoki would do such a thing, and the single player mode is a dream mash up of characters meeting each other so alot of what made the original Gundam Warrior game special was seeing the pilots interact with each other which happens here alot, and theres alot of tag up and opposition lines spoken during the fight for friends and foes alike.
