Definitely worth picking up matey, you'll probably get it for about a fiver.
Its looking a little dated now, off course, but its still a great game considering. I have a slight preference for RRV but the two games are extremely close on my scale of games love
I bought a new copy recently to replace one that a mate knackered, the old one still has the game and manual intact, but is missing the RR1 disk and the box is a bit knackered. If you want it, let me know and I'll post it to ya.
Alternatively
and see if you can get a perfect copy, from 99p you MUST BUY IT!

off the top of my head:
Thunderforce IV (almost every track)
super mario 64 (Jolly Roger Bay)
Streets of rage 2
Rez
Halo
FF VII ( The golden saucer is a classic)
Street Fighter (Alpha 3 had some good music)
also shin contra and disgaea had tunes that really grew on me but more due to hours played than them being timeless classics

cant think of things when ppl ask so i dont know
but without a doubt
1. Secret of Mana - Hiroki Kikuta was the daddy here, ****ing excellent tunes that to this day have never left me. I spent hours working out how to play some of them (notably some of the large string arrangements for the dungeons, and some of the music in the icelands, which subsiquently got entered in as coursework for music gcse. cheers Hiroki-san!)
others i loved, ocarina of time, actraiser, castlevania 4, streets of rage 1 and 2 (3 was cool but not a favourite) and street fighter 2's cps1 music simply becuase i grew up with street fighter and love it so much.
thers lots of other greats, i just cant ****ing remember!

Originally posted by superstarbeejayFor gods sake people Streets of Rage 2 has the best soundtrack bar none.
My choice:
Castlevania 4
Streets of Rage 2
Thunder Cross 2
Tekken 2
Donkey Kong Country
Super Ghouls and Ghosts
Soul Blade/Edge
Devil May Cry
Thunder Force 4
F-Zero
Resident Evil 2
Super Street Fighter 2
Silent Hill 2
I reckon alot of these for their settings/genre, had the best music. T2 and SOR2 had the best fighting game music, Thunder Cross 2 the best for scrolling shooters, CV4 the best for medieval gothic followed by Super Ghouls and Ghosts etc.Last edited by Shoju; 18-01-2005, 20:48.

The reason I love game music today...
Robocop (on the ZX Spectrum)
Speedball 2 (on Atari ST)
Batman the Movie (both Atari and Spectrum lol)
edit - can't leave out Heimdall either, listening to the intro music was as much a treat as playing it. However I downloaded some Amiga mods once and it was totally different from the ST version.
then both Soulblade and FFVII came along and started me buying soundtracks, they were just so f*&king good. I got the FFVIII soundtrack months before I ever got the game, would listen to it and imagine what sort of adventures it was going to accompany, lol.
Having recently played Panzer Dragoon Orta, that made me think 'wow' a few times, namely the very bleak level with the ancient ruins and grey clouds... theme for that level had a very Vangelis/Tangerine Dream vibe about it.Last edited by Darwock; 19-01-2005, 09:41.

Shining Force 3 (all scenarios)
Metal Slug 1-3
Revenge of Shinobi
Prince of Persia SoT
TMNT Return of Shredder
