If you don't have the first game then definitely get the latest version as it integrates everything, has the 2002 bikes and more tracks.

If you want online play, i'd just stick with the demo. GP1 dosen't have it, & GP2 is a massive let down.
If you want all the tracks in the demo version, just rent GP1 & unlock them & save to your hard drive.

I'm kinda in a fortunate position when it comes to MotoGP2... I'd never really played the original. I bought the sequel based on my recent experience with the motgp1 demo that comes with XBox Live.

It's funny... I'd never have imagined myself buying a motogp game much the same way as I've never bought an F1 game. Both sports "in real life" bore me to tears but when it comes to MotoGP2 I just can't get enough of it. I got it on Saturday and have easily clocked about 25 hours playing it so far. I've stayed up playing it online into the wee hours of the morning twice and despite not originally knowning much about the mechanics of bike racing I've found myself really getting into it.

When it comes to Live... yeah, a lot of people take it way too seriously and playing them is no fun... but on the other hand a lot of people simply don't seem willing to learn how to play the game. Pileups on the first corner are only funny the first 5 times then it gets annoying to be sailing through a corner only to have some guy smash into your side. Result: from 1st to 10th in 3 seconds.

Like any online game I guess it's very dependant on having a nice crowd of ppl to play with. I play it online with a guy I've known for almost 4 years so we just have a laugh and let the laptime nazis get on with it by themselves.
