That's my worry as well. When the second gen PS3 games start to appear we will see the gap widen even further.

My only wish is that the Wii had been more powerful, even though that's not something that can be changed now.
I know it's VERY early days but I played GEARS OF WAR the other day on my mate's 360 and was stunned by the graphics (obviously it played really well too).
Alright, so graphics aren't everything we know (I've been a gamer for 20 years, I'm not simply a graphics tart) and that playability is what counts but how nice would it have been to have both?
I feel somewhat gutted that we never seen visuals of that quality on Wii (yes I know it's early days) but this isn't just a case of being pessimistic. I truly feel that the Wii (based on hardware spec) will never achieve this level of visual quality which saddens me somewhat.
I don't think we'll see visual leaps on the Wii, exciting gameplay concepts will be the selling point of the system.
The Wii will end up being a complementary partner to the horsepower systems that MS and Sony have developed.
I realise this all makes great business sense to Nintendo, they don't have to compete at the same level and can target a specific area of the market.
But to me it's a shame that we can't yet have our cake and eat it after 30 odd years of console development
I can only imagine just how truly killer the Wii would be if it had marred both, amazing graphics with amazing controls.
I long for the day when we might see such a console with the best graphics technology, the most intuitive, innovative control system and the world's finest software houses all programming for it.
Sadly as this is a competitive industry which has no intentions of giving up their slice of the pie to create something universially beautiful for all types of gamers, I won't be watching for the pigs flying past my window.
Anyway, don't shoot me down for these thoughts.
Just putting them out there, seeing what rest of you think.
Btw, all the other wishes sound excellentLet's hope some of em come true.

Wii Sports to be expanded via downlaodable content to include other sports/games. Cricket, snooker/pool, darts, fencing, swimming, athletics could all work nicely in my opinion.
Metroid Prime 3 to make it out over here by April (wishful thinking?)
Sega to release Panzer Dragoon Saga sequel, Nights 2 and Samba De Amigo 2 for the Wii.

Who said it was an 'either or' situation?

60hz/ 480p/ Region free Virtual console games - someone needs to tell Nintendo Pal TVs have moved on since the 80's.
Goldeneye, Conkers, Banjo Kazooie i.e. all the Rare classics.
A proper Duck Hunt remake with the smiling dog.
House of the Dead.

one more wish:
The ability to turn off extra controllers when going from multiplayer to single player without having to take the batteries out or wait for them to turn themselves off.

More importantly, it wouldn't work on the existing game... they would likely be balance issues, course design and so on. New stuff please. Unsure where multiplayer stands on the Wii but the DS is more than capable.

1. Non-domestic games on VC - Ninty can plaster a big warning on the screen warning that JP games will not be translated.
2. Ability to organise Address book - a simple request, I just want to be able to organise the list by order alphabetical especially if I delete entries and it leaves gaps. Not much to ask really.
3. More online features, display friends who are online as mentioned earlier, more games featuring online modes, Wii sports deserves a sequel that can be played against your mates.
4. Sin and Punishment on VC.
5. Perfect Dark - I don't care if Ninty have to beg MS to get this, just strike a deal with them and cut them into a larger degree of profits from the purchases. I'll pay 2000 points, hell I'll pay 3000, I'll buy two more remotes just for this (is the desperation showing through here?). Just bloody get it on there!!!!!!!

I want a cricket game - that would be awesome. Also a Decathlete/Track & Field type game, and a sequel to Wii Sports with some new sports on it. So basically, sports games. I would also like a violent-as-**** first person thing with swords and knives and chainsaws and stuff, like what we imagined Red Steel would be but actually wasn't. Something really nasty, Daily Mail outrage fodder.
Am also hoping that the planned Resident Evil is out of the top drawer, as the 4th on the Cube is one of my fave games of all time.

Q: What else can we expect from the Wii online over the next few months?
New content, promotional downloads, micro transactions, new games, new levels for your existing games. There's no subscription fee for online, you'll be able to purchase virtual console games, based on points, and $5 for NES, $8 for Super Nintendo, and $10 for N64 games.
