So I bought 1 of those handheld megadrives the other day......

Saw 1 at HMV for ?15 & thought it was worth a punt at that price.
They're made by Blaze (produced in China).

1st impressions were pretty good. Nice size, AV Out port for the TV, battery case has a clip on back & a screw to ensure it doesnt come off. Screen is good & the buttons aint too shabby either. Great line up of 20 games, most of which are classics & deserve to be played if you havent already.
Tried it on me tv & the picture wasnt amazing, but then what do you expect for AV Out. Plus I'm so used to playing my MD thru scart so its bound too look a little fuzzy.

However, 2 days later it suddenly stops working. I changed the batteries for new 1's & still nowt. Then I noticed as I started fiddling with the batteries that the slots that they go in looked a bit dodgy. I noticed that 1 slot looked broken underneath, & instead of the usual '+' side having a metal contact plate & '-' side having a spring, this slot had springs on both sides. I also had to push the top part of the screen back in til it clicked as they hadnt assembled it correctly.

Sounds like a cheapy China factory botch up to me so now I'll be sending it back to HMV for an exchange or maybe even a refund.
