Disco Elysium is brilliant but so miserable. An ‘enjoyable’ experience it is not

R-Type Final 2 was a pleasant surprise though ... much better than I was expecting.

I initially quite liked It Takes Two, but it quickly started to become annoying, particularly the character dialogue - this is especially true if the person you are co-oping with is terrible at platform games. I'd never have voted this as GotY, even with the co-op experience, but it deserves a nod.

        Absolutely none of that list.

I did not play a single game released this year because there was no new Stuntman game released this year.

only played 3 games (4 counting Outriders demo)on that list and Genshin released in 2020.

Monster Hunter Rise i was just apathetic towards... think i mainly blame the switch being a increasing terrible home console.

Nier remake, i just couldn't get into knowing all the work i'd have to revisit to get the endings, in the end i just finished it once and youtubed the rest... probably due the 360 game feeling fresh in the memory still despite having not played the 360 version in many, many years, preferring Daddy Nier and the gameplay barely changing.

My most played games for the last year have been older 'live service' games, Apex Legends, Dead by Daylight, Genshin Impact and Final Fantasy 11, and i guess alot of others are still into Cod:warfare, Fortnite, minecraft, FF14, Destiny, etc, etc.

Did a single person play Oddworld Soulstorm? Feels like that series lost all momentum. I heard nothing about that game.

A Train is fantastic. A lovely chilled sim game that offers something for players of all levels. The UI and the information it gives you can be hellish at times but once you've picked your way through it, it's a great time.

I also voted for Nier and accidentally clicked on Genshin as well. If you can, please remove my vote from Genshin as I thoroughly dislike it.

Did we really need so many rounds? There’s only like 20 people left alive on the forum isn’t there? But seriously seems a bit excessive.

Also the poll doesn’t work on mobile view.

It takes two here. Just the variety of the levels and the fact that both players have something to add. Fully completed it with the wife. We’ve only been able to get through Lego Indiana Jones before. (The best of all the Lego games)
