This has probably been pointed out or said many a time since Ocarina was released, but playing the Master Quest recently made me think; is the whole 7 years of time passing by a statement by Nintendo on nostalgia and the good ol' days [of gaming]?
I remember emerging blearly-eyed out of the Temple of Time and seeing the market devastated, filled with zombies, and thunder overhead in a dark dark sky.
And I longed for going back to the happy market with the cheery music and the dogs running around. At the time, I thought that was it, so I was releaved to learn that the Master Sword could take me back, but for a short while... it was... horrible.
If indeed, it was a statement from Mr. Miyamoto, I propose the updated Ocarina of Time for the next-gen Nintendo console substitutes the Eye of Truth model for some rose-tinted specs.
