Imagine you had a database in the UK. It was SQL 6.5 and was fronted by Access 2000. Now this database needs to be expanded to be used in France and Spain.
How would you go about that?
Obviously upgrading to a fat db server with SQL 2000 or the new 2005 would be a big step. Then the front end would need to be rewritten to be web based to allow easy access for the foreign offices. And of course the 2 foreign offices existing records would need to be added into the system without causing too much distruption.
All this required in 2 months!
Anybody ever had experience with this sort of project?
My main issue is that I have only programmed basic ASP report pages before - No full on web front ends for massive corporate databases!!!
