I was doing a co-op Doom 3 System Link at the weekend with a friend using my chipped green Xbox and old black one (upgraded the dashboard with the American Jade Empire bonus disk I have).
The black machine was one that I had to return to Microsoft with DVD drive problems (so they replaced the DVD Drive, Hard Disk and Power Supply!!). I noticed that this machine had a Philips drive, the green one being a Thomson.
I loaded the game onto both machines (I think I started with the black one) and the green machine got the game up and running first.
So, the question... is the Philips drive slower than the Thomson? Is that the case or is the black machine developing a problem again?
