DS (GBA function) to GC connection??

Is this possible?

Only disappointment with the DS so far. Surely it wouldn't have taken much to include the possibility of connecting GBA-GBA games with the DS, and also allow using GBA-GC link up. Was hoping to use DS as another GBA for Zelda 4 swords.
