Are SATA's generally quieter than standard IDE's as I just got a new 300GB Sata drive, Seagate Barracuda just like my other ones and its deadly silent! And I mean DEADLY silent!!
Every time I put my PC on, WMC starts sharing all the media files for the 360 and it means that for the first 10 minutes or so, my PC is shockingly noisy as it accesses the drive constantly, and I only bought that drive like last summer but this new one doesnt make a sound, you have to open the case and put your ear up to it to hear any slight noises!
Its fantastic!
Transferring everything over now and installing Windows MCE today too, is it different from using WMC for the 360 in that it doesnt need to actively share the data every time you start? It just accesses it freely when it wants? Not that it really matters now since the drive is silent but just curious.
Are there any other advantages to using MCE with 360 apart from being able to stream Videos now too as I have my PC and 360 connected to my HDTV so theres no real need to do it apart from that my PCs sound is kinda messed up just now due to the motherboard being faulty, so watching/listening through 360 is better quality. Anything else to expect from it?
Andddd one more thing, does a chipped Xbox have actual MC connectivity? If so then it means I can just chuck my Xbox downstairs are stream stuff wirelessly directly to that from my PC if we ever want to watch stuff in the living room thats on my PC. But come to think of it, that would still work using XBMC anyway wouldn't it?
