an old monitor for my ps2?

hi, i have a modded ps2.

- my blaze monitor adapter no longer works - it displays some games and half the screen is on the other side.. unplayable.

i was getting annoyed using my telly, and it was so cheap, so i went ahead and bought a cosmo vga box from ebay . oh dear - the picture is worse than my TV..

i was wondering - can i just buy any old scart or rgb input monitor (like an old amiga monitor) and connect it up? is their any problems that anyone can forsee before i buy one?
