Well, it seems you guys have convinced me to change my TV or maybe my monitor.

Now my options are either a 26" HD LCD or a 24" monitor preferably one of these...

Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24" widescreen LCD

    BenQ FP241W 24in Widescreen Monitor

Latter one PS3 ready as it's 1080p as standard.

    Choices, choices...

I wouldn't recommend using a PC LCD with TV capabilities for SD games consoles, it'll look ****, the TV support is more of a tacked-on extra with these things.
And both of those are exactly that - very nice PC monitors and will be brill for HD stuff, but less so for SD.
A very nice PC LCD with TV capabilities is really not the same thing as a dedicated LCD TV with processing designed for the task.

Either look for a decent LCD TV over ~£650, or buy a nice widescreen CRT if you can't afford that. Budget LCD's are a terrible thing.

Phillai, consider a Mirai HDTV: http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433272

Look around and you'll find their 32" model for under £500, possibly even £400. My PS2 looks fantastic through component on my 32" Mirai.

I wish everone would stop saying NTSC over scart RGB, once it is RGB it is RGB, it isn't Pal or NTSC.

NTSC can be 50 or 60 hz.

NTSC is describing the colour carrier used, as is pal.
3.58 is the proper colour carrier for true NTSC that US and Japan use, 4.43 is pal colour but we tend to put ntsc 4.43 when we have converted the colour to pal but left the frquency at 60hz.

So buying a tv that does ntsc 4.43 will get you no where with imported machines, they are good for videos that allow you to play tapes sent from relatives in the states and that is about it.

Sorry to babble on, but there seemed to be lots of incorrect advice.
