    Online Disc Repair?

I have various discs for a variety of consoles, which need fixing.

I've looked on google for a decent disc repair place, but the couple I found seemed far too expensive.

Does anyone know of a reasonably priced, realiable company?

    Cheers!

I knocked my 360 over recently which cause my Guitar Hero to get a loverly scratch all the way around the disc. It would still read, but playing certain songs would give a dirty disc error.

I sent it to these guys. Cost ?3.50 for one disc (though they discount for more) and that included shipping, I paid by postal order when I sent the disc but they also take PayPal.

The disc came back and looked great, played fine and no worries.

I have seen other (random) places doing disc repair though, my local video shop does it and so do my Gamestation. Gamestation only charge ?2.50. I gave them a game that didn't work, covered in light scratches and when it was done (onlt took a min) they were all gone, save one slight "ding". The disc reads ok now, but some parts give dirty disc. I copied the game to my Xbox (orignal) HDD and now it works of that fine.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice, but I've seen that place, and I think they're too expensive. I've found a place that does 10discs for ?1.25 each, but maybe there is a cheaper place?

I wish the 360 allowed games to be installed on the HDD. It would save a lot of people, a lot of hassles.

I'd check if you local Gamestation does it, maybe you can work out a deal with them if you do 10 discs. That way you also don't have the worry of sedning them off and waiting for them to come back. That Scratch Doctor took a week for what I now have witnessed to be a 60 second job.

          Sorry... Gruce

My local Gamestation's don't have the service. I'll just send the discs to the cheapest place I can find.

Have you tried rubbing a bit of toothpaste on the discs? My R6 Vegas was borked until I tried this technique and it works perfectly now.

It probablly will work, in Gamestation the guy just rubbed some think pen, that leaked white stuff all over the disc, put it in a machine that span it. Though it looked like some big ol' PC.

Wouldn't that sort of work like a double edged sword though? I would imagine games would start shipping with unique serial codes that could only be activated the once, thus rendering resale impossible.

PC games allow you to install on the HDD. I know that RR7 on the PS3 allows HDD installation.

I know what you mean though, but I guess it's all about having a serial-number for each game. The game checks the serial on the disc, with the one typed in, and allows you to play. If you sell the game, the new owner gets the serial number.

I'll try it, thanks for the tip

can anyone reccomend a disc repair service for a 360 game, which has a circle ring scratch

i used to use a company called the disc doctor but i cant find them anymore, but they would take a layer off the disc so it looked like new and played fine,

Perhaps you need to do it online, but a lot of game shops will do this, GS I know for sure.

My mate simply went to game to get his Fifa fixed that had the same problem. Not sure on the quality of their machines but it worked a treat.
