Why are there so many faulty or incorrectly wired independent Dreamcast RGB SCART cables out there?
I've lost count of how many I've bought with faults and even the main one I use has a faulty video output from the AV block.
Now I've just bought another from eBay (a guy is selling a batch) and bugger me sideways if, yet again, it isn't correctly wired. It's not faulty and the SCART plug, although nastily cheap, is cleanly and correctly soldered for RGB.
Problem is when I came to crack the DC end connector (what I bought it for) low and behold the RGB output enabling pins 6 or 7 aren't connected to anything and there's nothing connected to pin 10 (composite sync) either. The wiring and soldering is fine it's just that it's set up for composite output (DC pin 13 is wired to SCART pin 20) not RGB.
I'd guess the seller didn't know and wouldn't have thought or known how to test them anyway.
What I just don't understand is how and why these cables get manufactured like this. It would take just one extra wire and re-soldering of another to turn it into a RGB cable.
