Duo-R Rgb mod

I'm planning to mod my Duo-R at the weekend, and I know the basic procedure for doing the mod. However, I want to replace the existing AV out with a 8pin din rather then add a second connector or stick hardwire a scart cable through the casing. However, although some guides suggest this (such as Gamesx), none of them actually go into detail on how to change the port.

Also, I'm going to be using it on a Sony Trinitron, will i need an amp?

Can anyone assist?
