Just been given a -N wifi access point that does mixed mode, it was a router but I disabled NAT and all that guff, dropped it in place of my older 54mbit one. I was expecting to be able to connect to it at -N rates on my iPad but using a file transfer tool from my fileserver I can see its pretty much transferring at the same rate as my old B/G wifi access point.
I turned the laptop off just to see if that was throttling it, but it made no difference, nothing else is connected either. I know the fileserver is only on wired 100mbit, but it should still be better than what it was using the old wifi point.
Any ideas? I've definitely got it on mixed b/g/n mode. Puzzling.
