I'm using an Acer laptop - a few years old.
The touchpad only notices if you start from one of the 4 corners whereupon it works fine, with 100% of the pad area working as long as you don't take your finger off the pad. If you start from the other 99% e.g. the middle, it doesn't notice I have touched it.
It had vista on it with all sort of touchpad options. I've installed ubuntuMate on it which has only the scrolling on/off option - it does the same thing though
Any ideas? Is it just broken?
