I will be up for any of the BCNM40's soon as I would like to try and obtain my Phalanx Scroll - so count me in for those if there's any room!

I assumed the BCNM40s had a level cap of 40? Is this not the case? If not, I'm game as well - got 200 seals so far and don't fancy starting a third stack that'll just take up room in the moghouse.

Not quite sure what you mean Darwock? I would have thought that anyone up to 40 could do it and those over 40 are bought back down to 40 for the fight? Hence we at 3x would be just fine... (as far as entering the BC !!!!!)

All I know is that the one orb battle I've done so far had a level 20 cap, and also nobody under level 20 was allowed in. So I figured it was the same for each of the different kinds of orbs, although I haven't obtained any so it was just a presumption.

            Ahhhhhh

You may well be right. I was going on the other missions etc that I have done with level caps... Not done an orb battle yet. I'm sure someone can confirm either way!

Well, RSE chest hunt went badly. Died once and had to 2hr + Warp at the end. In 3 hours I didn't see a single chest, and we covered the whole map several times

Managed to get the Drk job today and get it to lvl 9.

Its a good job to get my G.Axe and G.Sword lvls upto a usable skill lvl for War job.

Just a good sign that FFXI is here to stay as the top MMORPG, I was amazed it held such a high percentage of users over other games.

Not if you combine totals for Everquest and Everquest 2... I don't know how likely it is that players of 1 will migrate to the other but if you take that into account, then FFXI is in 2nd place.

Everquest and Everquest 2 are seperate games. Everquest is still a completely independent, ongoing, and fully supported MMORPG. I believe there is even a new expansion pack due for the original Everquests within the next few months.

Anyway, what are the plans for the weekend? Apathye has put /lsmes as wanting help with his AF3 on Sunday in Taraimorai Canal. However, I am unable to help with that as I still get refused acess to that zone. I think you have to complete a quest to gain access but unsure which.

I don?t know if he got his Davoi Coffer Key without us so that may be something that needs doing but as Mihki said, it will be close to a full EXP party setup considering the strength of the Orcs we have to battle. However, I think we would be more successful this time without superfluous members with annoying macros that lag out our machines and don?t do anything apart heal themselves _. If we go prepared we can do it easily but I think many of us were underestimating how difficult it was going to be.

Also, perhaps a katana run is in order. Been a long time ^_^

I think thats true Rare about that coffer key party and have to say it was not as smooth going as I thought it would.

I have been there before helping get a key but I think we had more higher lvls which made it seem easier. Also I know as a Bard I should throw out the cures when needed but for these coffer parties I never even expected death could be possible, with two extra rdms I guess I was a bit lacking of concentration expecting them to handle things with the cures.

As for Apathye's AF3 I have not been to that place so I am not sure if I can do it either if you cant Rare.

Got to be honest though, my interest in doing coffer key parties and AF stuff in general is just not there anymore.

I really think its due to having done an absolute huge amount of them, im glad most of us are finished or nearly finished with AF Armour, time to progress and do some of the fun stuff, BCNM's and Missions etc.

Oh and sure thing Rare, we got to try for that katana again, hopefully we will get lucky next time.

I remember reading on gamespot that WoW had sold 600,000 copies so far so I'm a little surprised it hasn't a larger market share. Still the European launch will no doubt boost it's numbers.

Without question, after a slow start, FFXI has been a success story for Square-Enix and it will be interesting to see how their next MMORPG works out. Imo the genre needs to move forward as most of the titles seem pretty similar.

WoW might that game, I don't know as I haven't played it yet, but some people obviously think it is going by the reviews I've read.

Oh, speaking of missions Wedge, I think we can actually do the next San d?Oria one at our current level. I haven?t actually activated the mission yet (need more rank points) and I don?t have any clue what it involves.

However, a few minutes before I logged off last night, whilst I was crafting (Woodworking 32, YAY! ^^) I got an invite asking if I needed to Mission 6.1. I would assume this means level 60 people can take part in the mission.

Well another weekend over and some more progress made on FFXI.

Unlocked Drk job on Thursday and got to lvl 20 Sunday, I am pleased with the speed I got to that lvl, for now im only aiming at lvl 30 for Drk to use it for Ballista.

I am glad to be out of Valkurm Dunes with Drk, that was my aim for the weekend.

Really some of the hassles you get getting through Valkurm just really annoys you, I mean I know we were all new to the game at one point but I just cant help it, they do my head in.

I had Warriors who provoked and stood there not fighting, just being hit and watching the fight go by.

                              Odd job combinations like Drk/Whm.

The tank in one party let me die simply because he didnt provoke, he had near full hp, I HP to Selbina and as im heading back he goes and pulls, and guess what, he died along with the rest of the party, they hardly put up a fight at all.

I tell ya, in nearly every party in the dunes it felt like I was keeping us from death nearly every battle and to be honest got fed up of saving others to have them just let me die.

Anyways, should we plan a BCNM60 for this week, maybe Tuesday.

It does take time to learn the ins and outs.. but yeah a warrior that just provokes and doesn't fight.. that takes the biscuit!

I've seen a whm that continually cast cure III on the monsters we were fighting - Weapons and Tabar Beaks... I'm pretty sure neither of those are undead!! The Weapons couldn't be because my Aspir works on them. She would also immediately run over to the melee fight the moment it began and stay there for the duration, getting pounded by all the area attacks.

I had one of those weekends where it felt like the game was taking the piss. I wanted to get cobalt jellyfish for getting my alchemy up to level 10, so I was fishing in Selbina. Got only 2 jellyfish, and snapped my carbon fibre rod within 30 mins! First CF rod breakage I've had :-(

So on Sunday night I couldn't face the prospect of hours more fruitless fishing with the possibility of another broken rod. I ended up doing something I don't like doing, and bought the ingredients at auction. After crafting my first batch of mercury I discovered you could buy the jellyfish at the guild for 1K less than what I'd been paying.. ARGH!

Anyway I got to level 10 - guy wanted me to make a chunk of animal glue. No probs, done it countless times. I had 2 of the things I needed, but had to get a fire crystal and a rabbit hide. So I switched over to my level 5 warrior which I have been using to do the Dark Knight quest, and went out to kill vultures for the fire crystal. First vulture killed me. Home point set in Selbina. Oops! No problem I thought, I'll use my Republic Stables Medal.. oh dear level 15 limit on that. I made it all the way back to Gustaberg, fought another DC vulture... killed me again! All the way back a second time, and this time I was able to get my crystal.. sod the effort of going back out for a rabbit hide, I bought that too. Set about making my glue - boom synthesis failed, losing every single ingredient. Which I don't think has EVER happened before. And after all of that!

I had one chunk still up for sale in Windurst so I equipped my stables scarf (meant for emergencies), teleported over, got it out of auction and warped back. So my little bit of crafting ended up consuming my whole evening and cost another free teleport :-(
