What an amazing year. Loved playing RRT4 with the Jogcon and watching ^that^ intro over and over Seeing Radiant Silvergun running for the first time was genuinely astonishing. And Resi 2 was just a brilliant sequel.

Well - I managed to narrow it down to 4 votes on that list!

RR4, RS and RTD are no brainers for me but Pop n Music holds a special place in my heart too.

Police Quest: SWAT 2 was pretty bonkers, it was an isometric real-time action strategy thing where you went round shooting the baddies - or - you could be the baddies! The latter made it excellent fun, you were basically a cult going round causing mayhem and would end up in Dog Day Afternoon style scenarios where the police would be trying to negotiate with you. I remember fondly once managing to get the police to send me a getaway car, blowing a load of stuff up as a distraction and then successfully getting away. Mad little game.

Big hitters out in force here, yeesh. Tried to limit my choices, and even doing this and knowing full well that going back to the first game would be very hard, I've also snuck in a Pop'n Music vote alongside Resi 2 and RSG.

Resi 2, it's like Resi 1 but the point where Resi was fully legit good

Ridge Racer Type 4, it's my favourites racing game of all time. RE2 was special but it's second place.

Type 4 was massive. It was the one Namco took in a different direction and really threw in that Japanese feel. Sure other Ridge racers had bigger and bolder stuff going on, but type 4 just felt special.

Type 4 has the greatest intro of any racing game ever. I used to watch it over and over. Gives me goosebumps watching it now.

And the game was brilliant. One of my favourites. Such an original and unique vibe for a racer. They really, really don’t make ‘em like they used to when it comes to this type of game.
