Ford vs Ferrari: Le Mans '66 took pole position this week with an opening of $51m worldwide which was ahead of projections.
As a result Midway slipped to second place and now itself sits on $53m making it clear which is the bigger hit already.
The new Charlie's Angels bombed as expected, opening internationally to just $27.9m with a very weak $8m coming from the domestic launch. A further $7.7m came from the Chinese opening with the rest divided across another 24 countries showing that the failure of the film is terminal across the board meaning it's already clear there'll be no recover on this reboot
Last Christmas is now up to $35m on its second week.
Zombieland 2: Double Tap is ending its run now on $68m worldwide which is still shy of the original films $75m taking.
Also finishing up is Rambo: Last Blood with $87m
And Terminator: Dark Fate is also starting to see its red tinted vision fade to black, this week rising to $233m
The big story this week instead lies with Joker which is now up to $1.016bn worldwide. It is now ahead of The Dark Knight for total gross and is the first R-rated film to top the $1bn mark. Despite the record broken by Endgame, Joker is now arguably the most successful comic book movie of all time when factoring cost to profit.
Next weekend 21 Bridges opens but likely the world won't notice because entire cities will grind to a halt to the sound of millions of childrens running feet as the box office bomb run comes to an end with the arrival of Frozen II
