Australia already banned it on government devices due to risk to national security (...sigh...), with Taiwan, South Korea, and Italy introducing similar bans for the same reason or privacy concerns.Comment

DeepSeek AI is fully open source, so not sure exactly how they plan on banning it with any effectiveness, given they're banning it for commercial reasons, and nothing to do with security.
You can literally look through the code and see there's no spying going on, other than the same permissions any other compiled app does.

Saw on the news earlier Trump was on Airforce One, signing another executive order as he flew over the Gulf of Mexico that it's now named the Gulf of America.
Then he went on to declare that all steel coming into America will be subject to a 25% tariff.
When asked about aluminium, he went "yeah, aluminium too."
Then he went on to say he plans to buy Gaza, although he didn't clarify who he would buy it from.
