Looking for a certain poem

I thought someone on here may know the answer, I saw a line from an old poem quoted in a newspaper years ago, about man conquering each element of the self like an empire, I think it may have been by Shelley.

I didn't keep it so I can't quote it, does anyone have any idea of what it could have been? Any help would be very much appreciated.
