Yeah, and remember it's your fault for not washing out your yoghurt pot, not that there are indoor skislopes in Dubai, China has barely any pollution regulations, Trump wanted to undo conservation efforts and the UK government is happy to pump raw sewage into the rivers.
I really believe we can all do our bit, but I'm starting to resent all these big companies shifting the blame onto us, like BP coining and popularising the phrase "carbon footprint" and unveiled a calculator to work out how much pollution the individual produces on their daily commute, shopping trip or travelling. It's not us, guv, producing 3.8 million barrels of oil a day, it's you lot:
“This is one of the most successful, deceptive PR campaigns maybe ever.”
You can’t do your bit, big oil has F*****D us all, the planet is 60 years too late to be saved were that far gone.
Enjoy things while you can 🤷♂️
edit. The only funny thing to come from all this is bilging deisel vans chugging by with “carbon neutral delivery” on the side, absolutely f*****g hilarious.
Placing responsibility on consumers has been the biggest con of the entire movement and all too often campaigners have fallen into that trap and wasted time and effort. Mass industrial action is and always was the only way targets would ever be hit. It's a lost game until enough companies can suitably profitise the shift.
Exactly this! We’ve had decades of being scolded with demands to “be a better consumer”, when this is a structural issue that needs international-coordinated state action.
There was Newsnight a while back that gave the stat that if we all changed to Energy Saving Lightbulbs, it would save 7 seconds from the end of the world. We can all do a bit but it’s the big polluters that have the real power to change things.
"The relationship between Trump and Daniels is central to the case because Trump’s then lawyer and personal fixer, Michael Cohen, paid her $130,000 to keep quiet about their alleged sexual encounter during the 2016 election campaign.
Prosecutors argue that the money paid to Daniels was therefore an election expense and was deliberately entered wrongly in Trump’s business documents – with that act being the crime, rather than anything to do with the actual payment of hush money to cover up the alleged affair."
I didn't realise this. It's like Al Capone charged on tax fraud, not all the crime gang murders!
Yep, he massively tripped himself up because much like him raiding the election funds to pay his trial costs, he refuses to use his own money for anything so it's come back on him. Good too because he's clearly guilty as sin and guilty of way more than he'll ever be charged for.

And that's where the prosecution have tripped themselves up a bit, as much of Daniels's testimony lacks relevancy to the actual crime, and the judge said as much whilst that testimony was being given. It may have handed Trump cause for an acquittal on an appeal.
The level of detail of what happened in the room is immaterial to the dodgy payments and may be seen as prejudicial.

He's charged with 34 counts of falsifying New York business records in order to conceal damaging information and unlawful activity, paying hush money is not a crime concealing it and it and listing it as Legal expenses is. The catch and kill scheme he's alleged to have engaged in where he was using a Media outlet to buy up damaging information and burying the stories to deceive voters is classed as election fraud too.
