It would benefit the country by removing Tories. Like I said, someone with ideas intended to help the country, even if badly implemented, is still better than someone running the country as a personal profit making enterprise, which is the Tories in a nutshell. I'd rather see the country burned to ashes than any more of this late-capitalist nightmare.

      Go on then.

Sell me the current Labour party.

You can sit there and take the piss, but your posts on the subject show you are clueless and blinkered, a pretty worrying combination.

I have said all along, we need a decent Labour party, so I am no fan of the Tories, but what is being offered currently is socialist utopia that can only, based on their manifesto, damage the UK, and damage it for a very, very long time.

Fortunately enough people realise this, the fact we have a Tory party that is as shambolic as we have ever seen a party in government and yet more people still want them in that Corbyn should tell you something? No?

Luckily, most people in the UK, however moralistic there are, are still not stupid enough to fall for Corbyn, they are seeing him for what he really is.

        Pathetic.

        Explain how that works.

              So no ideas then?

Just throw insults at me, calling me names because you have no answers?

              No, I'm not self-righteous, self-interested parasite.
I am wanting what is best for the country, and yeah sometimes is a tough stance, but it is a realistic stance.

You can't fluff up bad ideas with socialist ideology, just because you say you want this lovely world doesn't mean it will be a lovely world.
Venezuela is current example of why your way of thinking doesn't work.

I get most on here are very left of thinking, but there is a difference between classing yourself as left of thinking and anti realism.

And I'm sorry, but when you lot are so materialistic with your tech and games and the other stuff you chat about, you're not really all that socialist, compared to 80% of the planet you are the globalist problem. You are keeping that train going whether you like to admit that or not.

Just be honest with yourself. Have a bit of dignity.

All I want to say is that as a small business owner, I want to leave the EU, who's rules on fair wages, "maternity" leave and forced labour make running my business hard.
Don't you know I've got a mortgage to pay on my 6 bedroom new build and that lease agreement for my Range Rover isn't going to pay itself.

How am I expected to do that when I can't trample over the lives of the peasants which I employ?
I mean, it's not like they don't have fathers who can take out a large business loan on their behalf, if they want a Corian worktop and a boiling water tap, then they can put in the hard graft that I did.

I'd like to hear what this fox has to say on the matter.

                  Indeed. Good point well made.

Let's cut out the personal attacks. Totally unnecessary. Any more of it and someone'll be having a time out.

I would be happy for you to come and see the reality of running a business.
The offer is on the table, I will show you the whole lot, rates, rents, electricity bill, insurance, bank charges, wages, stock purchases etc. etc.
I can guarantee you would be genuinely shocked at how tough it is, and probably even more shocked at what my wife and I take as a wage compared to our staff.

I drive around in a 12 year old car, my wife's car is 15 years old. My manager is in a 2018 car.
I took less in wages than I paid my manager last year.

I will be honest, I am currently in talks with regard to a position that has opened up in the local council, the wages are great, the holidays are unreal (compared to being a business owner where you get 1-2 weeks a year, unpaid) and they have this thing called a pension, which I had to cancel back in 2009 when the recession hit and have not been able to afford to start since.

Now, there will always be a few who do very well as a business owner, but they are few and far between and probably say more about the industry you work in than being a business owner in the UK in general.

But the offer is there. I would actually love to show you how tricky it is.

The Shadow Brexit Secretary has said that she feels many Leave voters are fed up of being told they voted Leave due to being racist, stupid or led by Russian interference and that is creating anger that entrenches them in their position when they may otherwise be swayed to Remain if they felt listened to rather than berated. She is also surprised Remain support hasn't hit 70% in light of everything, a recent poll puts 54% in favour of Remain against 46% for Leave.

Gregg Clarke says the real deadline is imminent on Brexit as the realities of trade mean businesses need final confirmation within the next week or so otherwise it's too late. He also essentially confirms he'd quit if No Deal occurred.

The UUP leader has said that if No Deal occurs then Teresa May should impose direct rule over Northern Ireland effective 30 March 2019

Donald Tusk has said that he hopes May comes with a realistic plan tomorrow but again that the withdrawal agreement will not be open to change at all. He also says that those who promoted Brexit without a plan for how to facilitate it deserve a special place in hell.

His broader comments in addition to that one paint a very crystal clear picture ahead of his final talks with May tomorrow. He in particular, but the EU also, are not entertaining any misguided belief UK MP's have that any element of the withdrawal agreement is up for debate or that any new offers are on the table. That includes the backstop which he says they won't budge on as they aren't remotely willing to gamble on a peace mechanism to please leave MP's here. His and the EU's position remains that they hope the UK will somehow cancel Brexit but given the state of things and us having May and Corbyn at the helm, the EU is now fully bracing for No Deal.

Labour is now officially supporting an extension of Article 50

At this point, unless the government surrenders to offering a second referendum to get one, I'm not sure why the EU would bother agreeing to an extension at this point given they can't assume anything would change with a few more months of infighting added

Thing is gLzzE a lot of your problems come from the fact that you are paying what you should while larger company's can pretty much do what they want under the current system, how is it a fair system where the little guy has to play everything buy the book while amazon can run tax avoidance schemes and pay virtually nothing of what it owes in UK corporation tax.

Nobody currently in government is fighting your corner in fact the Torry government has caused a lot of the problems you mention.

Rents are high because land is at a premium. It's at a premium because of the cost of housing. If you remember the Tory's sold of all the council housing, We have also seen a massive amount of property used as investment as apposed to housing too.

Your energy bills are high because we have our infrastructure run for profit by private company's. Your rates are high because councils have no money due to government cuts brought in during austerity.

You have been had with a promise of strong and stable when the only thing strong and stable in the UK is the top tier of governments bank balance's. Until I see the current government prioritize the people their supposed to be looking after over their own positions and their own bank balances i will continue to appose them. how else can you explain a tax cut for the richest in society while having one of the worst child and pensioner poverty rates in over 30 years.

                            Yes.
Don't remember when they were state owned?
                            No.

I am still able to assert that they should be publicly owned again.
