When I see you posting in here Zaki, I'm expecting one of your London-centric rants, but we've not had one for a while.
Is that because you're working from home more?

"I was in the cereal café quffing some Lucky Charms, but my espresso was ruined by the guy on the next table manspreading wider than the Financial Times' centre pages!"

Haha! you know what? I never noticed the correlation until now! I have indeed been working from home for a couple of months. That will soon change though, so watch this space.

I normally work from home, I know I'm lucky (even though I put far more hours in and the business gets more out of me) but today had to travel and experience the total ****-up that is the Northern Rail timetable change. Apologies for the language I normally hold it in but I'm still seething and I've had to let one go,the stuff I've witnessed today I never saw back in the early eighties.

I'm travelling tomorrow too but only later in the day so shouldn't be too bad.

I'm kind of scared to ask what you saw, but also intrigued!

I'm irked by songs that sound happy, but are actually depressing.
You Are My Sunshine, Copa Cabana, Love Fool, Hey Ya, Mr. E's Beautiful Blues and so on.

Tricking you into thinking they're fun, but they're dark!

Sting has, many times, lamented publicly that people play Every breath you take at weddings. It just shows some people only hear music and key words, and don't really think about lyrics.

I barely ever listen to lyrics. I love melody and rhythm and so I fall victim to this a lot. It's also why I enjoy listening to things like kpop - it takes my understanding of the lyrics completely out of the equation.

My missus is aaaaalll about lyrics. She hates that I don't care what a song is saying, melody means everything.

Explains why we don't share music tastes and also why I have zero time for Rap etc music which is just a sea of bland 'Blah Blah Blah' as there's no hook there at all.

Ever listened to the lyrics of "Sweat" by Inner Circle?
If you read these lyrics down the phone, you'd get arrested.

I'm looking in your eye, I'm looking in your big brown eye
Ooh yeah, and I've got this to say to you, hey
Girl, I want to make you sweat, sweat till you can't sweat no more
And if you cry out, I'm gonna push it some more
Girl, I want to make you sweat, sweat till you can't sweat no more
And if you cry out, I'm gonna push it, push it, push it some more
A la la la la long, a la la la la long long li long long long
                  C'mon
A la la la la long, a la la la la long long li long long long, ooh

"Come on Eileen" - it really is as bad as it sounds.

They played "The Twist" - I did the twist.
They played "Jump" - I jumped.
They played "Come On Eileen" - I got escorted from the nightclub.

                          So, car costs.

                          Lease: $378/month
                          Insurance: $278/month
                          Underground heated secure parking: $239/month

Not having to get up at 530am to figure out bus schedules: worth it.

I was going to write "and I thought I had it rough at SFr.170/month" but then I realised my parking spot is underground, unheated, and not secured (unless two flimsy boom bars count as that).

Well, considering that if I can get into the building, I can get into the parkade through the basement without needing another key, it's not as secure as I would like.

                                Are there security cameras though?
