This is available to download on Steam now, I had a look at the pics, saw it was a 72GB download and haven't bothered, but it seems to have positive reviews overall.

An old PSO DC friend wants to give it a try so I'm going to jump back in. Its fun tbh.

If anyone has the MS Store version and wants to switch to the Steam release, you need to keep the MS Store version installed apparently, and then obtain a code to swap over to the Steam release. No idea why but its worth hanging on to it until you're sure everything is fine.

I never played PSU so couldn't comment there. It feels like a modern evolution of PSO I guess, same basic premise of obtaining quests but much expanded with a ton of content. Gameplay is much more fluid than the original which can feel quite stiff and rigid in comparison (still fun, just very of its time).

Theres a heavy emphasis on customising your character but its not essential to enjoying the game.
