Phenomena is a really strange one. The version I saw has terrible lip sync in areas although is said to be the directors cut. Actually, if memory serves me right, it was because the Italian voiced characters were dubbed over.

Phenomena is a really strange one. The version I saw has terrible lip sync in areas although is said to be the directors cut. Actually, if memory serves me right, it was because the Italian voiced characters were dubbed over.

A lot of those films were shot in dual language and dubbed anyway, some are all over the place, kind of goes with the territory a bit. The longest cut in this set is an English dub with some Italian that's sub-titled (same as Deep Red). Tbh, Phenomena is nowhere near my fave Argento film but the completionist in me along with a bit of store credit added it to the collection.

I watched this as part of my GCSE Media Studies course and it has stayed with me for the 25 years since.
