I'm glad Project Diva's done alright after the scores were a little low. I'm a third of the way through it and I can see why now, it's technically running for the best entry so far but it's really just a song expansion for Diva 2. Great fun though and it looks likely to make the jump to Vita for Diva 3 now.

      01. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

      02. Call of Duty: Black Ops

      03. Battlefield 3

      04. Modern Warfare 2

      05. Gears of War 3

The Xbox Live Top 5. As expected MW3 tops the list whilst Black Ops continues to hold Battlefield 3 off.

That list should make anyone developing a first person shooter take pause. That's what you're trying to beat, three iterations of the same game, and a similar game from a different developer.

I'm always amazed that publishers continue to pour money into trying to get a COD beater...

          UK Chart, Top 10 is:

1 - Multi - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
          2 - Multi - Assassins Creed: Revelations
          3 - Multi - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
4 - Multi - Saints Row: The Third
          5 - Multi - FIFA 12
          6 - 360 - Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary

          9 - 3DS - Super Mario 3D Land
          10 - Multi - Just Dance 3

Not too bad a showing for exclusives Halo, Zelda and Mario considering. Assassins does well as usual too.

Need for Speed just missed out, landing in 11th. Mario & Sonic London Olympics landed at 20th though probably should have been released closer to the event.

MW3 is down 87% this week, and still bears Ass Creed, which is apparently Ubi's biggest ever launch week to boot.

And Halo beating Zelda will no doubt annoy some people...

3DS sales remind of 2009/10 PSP sales. High hardware numbers but practically no software charting. Apparently Mario is the only game in the top 20.

Ni No Kuni's PS3 sales are pretty low. RPGs on PS3 seem to generally do pretty good first week numbers (even White Knight Chronicles) so I imagine Level 5 are massively disappointed. Wonder why it sold so poorly? Was the DS version badly received?

Ass Creed really is a very strong brand isn't it? You can see why Ubi made it yearly.

They're decent games (albiet suffering from law of diminishing returns this year), and I suspect a lot of it is down to the savvy marketing, but to outperform Skyrim is no mean feat. Especially given that the internet seems to have gone Skyrim bonkers.

Shows that us in the vocal games fan community really aren't as big a piece of the pie as we like to think we are

We'll have to wait and see how they fare after a week of sales, the charts run from Sunday to Saturday, so games out the previous week have an extra 5 days worth of sales ahead of new releases. Althought to be honest, there are so many big hitters they are unlikely to make a dent on the top 10

Ubisoft were expecting ACR to perform worse than Brotherhood, I wonder if they were right?
