This is a funkey game! I love the way the designers mix and match different presentation styles. The story is really quite gripping too.

As mentioned still a way behind the PC though:

    But close enough!

Has the profanity been toned down at all or is the c word still thrown around quite happily?

@ezee regarding the controls, are they different from the Xbox pad on pc implementation? Because that worked really well so I wonder what they would have changed?

That really is crazy, was just reading what the ubersampling is and the specs required to run the game looking like that. That's real enthusiast **** there.
You can see the framerate is **** in that video, it's not pushing 30fps throughout most of that, let alone 60.

Just was reading about some guy, his PC is
          Core i7 2600K @ stock speed (3.4GHz). Gainward Geforce GTX 580 (1536MB) @ 830 MHz. 6Gb RAM.
and he gets 20-30 FPS with ubersampling on.

Ubersampling renders every frame 2-4 times and then composites them into one frame. Seems like a rather ineffecient , but high IQ way to do AA, a bit like FSAA.

Apparently to get it running at 1080p with ubersampling on you are looking at 2 or 3 top end cards SLI'd together.
Can't wait for all games to look like that, but them getting it running on 360 just shows how horribly ineffecient these very top end games must be if they need such crazy specs to get looking like that.
We'll get games that look better than that and run off comparable specs in the next few years. Exciting times.

After reading it up I'd be more impressed to see something running the Witcher 2 looking as good on 360 on 360 era PC hardware, even on a machine that was double the spec of 360.

Profanity is still the same, the f and c word pop up now and again, but the most common word used by characters is "plough" or "ploughing", something I found quite funny.

In terms of controls, nothing too different in terms of buttons, but (most notably) they've added the ability to target enemies (LT) and then cycle through them with a quick flick of the analog stick. Basically, to sum up, CD Projekt RED has fined tuned the controls to suit the 360 pad down to a tee.

Cool. Hopefully pc version can get that control tweak.

The difference between ?ber sampling on or off is so tiny it's really not worth it. A ?500 pc will play witcher 2 with everything on bar ?ber at 1080p and 30fps. Nice to heat cd projekt have done a great job.

Got mine Friday off Shopto must have put in about 8 hours now i guess.

I have played about 10 hours on the first game and loved it, combat was pretty easy, looked amazing, great voice acting etc. I lost my save and never went back though.

So wehn i heard the 2nd one was coming to the 360 i put my pre-order straight in.

First thing about the 2nd one is, don't come into this thinking its gonna be a straight up hack and slash or action game as the combat has to be played very carefully and strategically. Compared to the first game you die very quick and and combat feels slower and more dodging is required. It does take a while to get used to it and you may find yourself early on dying and dying a lot as i did lol

I consider myself a veteran at these sort of games but i really felt schooled when i started to play this and had to slow down and learn. I must say though once it clicks it REALLY clicks and the combat is fantastic and flows brilliantly.

Graphics are brilliant. Voice acting is awesome and very funny in places.

The only minor complaints compared to the first game i have are, there seem to be less skills and less equipment slots but that's about it.

About 10 hours in myself and still mopping up all the quests in flotsam. Great game so far, and combat is indeed difficult but rewarding. I feels heavy like dark souls, with just as much prep needed before battles.

Be warned though, the autosave on this doesn't save too often, and after losing in battle I've been sent a little while back on a few occasions. I've learned to save more often now! Saving is nice and quick though, so all is good!

Lots of nudity so far though, no panning cameras like Mass Effect...

I'm playing on Easy, and even then my first few encounters with proper monsters have destroyed me! Was super fun to do the prep, lay traps and then retreat, so that I reduced them nicely before the fight. It's quite deep the combat and potions part. I am very new to this (Have tried and failed in games like Oblivion) so I hope to manage to not give up on this.

It's a real shame I can't justify paying out for the 360 version of this game when I've recently obtained the PC one. My laptop won't play it too well, despite the specs being easily above those that a 360 would have. I have to set overall visuals to medium with everything else switched off and even then I'm not getting a constant 30 fps.

Hopefully the enhanced edition's free update will further improve the sorely lacking optimisations the game needs.

Bloody hell this game isn't shy with its sex/nudity!

The elven bath house scene just occurred... Didn't know what to think!

Only thing I didn't like is that the names of the spells are totally meaningless and hence impossible to remember what they do. That was a stupid decision IMO.
