Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse (XBLA/PS3/Vita/Wii U)

I mentioned this a few weeks back in the Strider thread but haven't seen it's own headline and thought it deserves one. No word on whether it's a straight port or a remake but either way I'm in.

Semi-confirmed as XBLA/PS3/Vita/Wii U by Brazilian Ratings Board

Please be based on the superior Master System version. With glorious 1080p Rayman Origins style visuals.

I hope any remake is done with affection and not just soulless HD sprites. I loved the Mega drive version.

Lets all take a trip down memory lane with the first stage music

Never knew there was a Master System version. Perhaps Master system, Mega drive and a remake all on one 1200 purchase.

Now having the levels from both versions is a great idea.

Castle of Illusion is one of a very few master system games still worth playing. It's a classic.

This is correct. MS had better music too. The music on the MD version jars after listening to the MS levels. MS music was more plinkety plonky and didn't go down a note at inappropriate times.

I'm in! This game still holds up even today! Many fond memories of this game, and I pray that it's like CMcK hope's it is!

Wow what with this and Duck Tales you could almost forgive Disney for shutting down Lucasarts!

Bet it doesn't score well on that "aggregate" site.

This and Duck Tales though; I'm in!!

I only ever played the Game Gear version many years ago, how does that compare with the other versions? I really liked it back then and it had some great music and atmosphere.

Game Gear version is a zoomed in port of the Master System version. Still awesome. Has slightly enhanced audio IIRC.

Wonder why it's taken so long for all of these classic Disney re-releases to come out? I want World of Illusion too please.

                              Alakazam.
