From reboots to big-name stars in family comedies, here are some of the hottest pilots with a chance to land on the broadcast networks' 2018-19 schedule.
Chances are increasing that once again CW will bail on a spin-off and not go ahead with Wayward Sisters. Personally, being familiar with the characters and having seen the latest attempts springboard ep in the main show, I don't mind, it's not a likeable cast or set up. I love the show but it really doesn't need or work with spin-offs and if they can't make a single idea float approaching 14 seasons in just focus on the one that clearly does.

With “Wayward Sisters” not being picked up, it looks like The CW has given up on any plans for further spin-offs based on its long-running series “Supernatural”. CW boss Mark Pedowitz, speaking at his semi-annual TCA appearance, says “if the executive producers want to do one, we’re open to listening to one” but admits it’s […]
The head of the CW channel seems to have changed his previous tune and seems resigned to the fact that launching a spin-off to the show just isn't going to work so it sounds like no more attempts will be made. He has, however, not changed his tune on the fortunes of the main show itself recommitting to his previous comments from a few years ago saying they will keep the lights on as long as Jared and Jensen want to continue making it. This October Supernatural returns for Season 14 which will contain the 300th episode.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is set to briefly return for the special episode as Sam and Dean's father. He last appeared at the start of Season 2, the 300th episode is quite far into Season 14.

With the 300th episode airing this week:
The CW used the TCA Winter Press Tour to announce renewals for ten of its series, including almost all their regular line-up which is helped by its continuing multiyear output deal with Netflix. CW president Mark Pedowitz says there are no plans to change the status quo for now, even with WarnerMedia’s streaming service set […]

The other week came word that The CW’s “Supernatural” is coming to an end with the upcoming 15th season of the show to be its last. It was an interesting announcement because it was not done due to any studio pressure, network regime change or ratings drop, instead it was a joint decision made by […]
Jensen and Jared have explained that the discussion about ending the show took place over a very long period of time and ultimately came from looking at how the show had managed to survive for such a long time against the constant risk that it would fizzle out or not ultimately end on its own terms if they kept going without end.

Supernatural gets in trouble. I don't follow all the interviews etc the cast does but in terms of the shows content... like with many other fandom things... fans see what they want to see more often than the content is actually in the end product. The showrunners and show have shown plenty of knowledge before of fans 'shipping' of characters so there's a burden of responsibility but the relationship they cite in the article... never a thing.
