PTE47: Champions of Mushroom Kingdom Raceway

Mario Kart 8 is released roughly April time and the demo I played further restored some faith I'd lost since Double Dash. However, for a while now new Mario Karts have contained four retro cups mixing tracks from previous games. With 7 releases to choose from which classic courses would make up your ultimate retro cups?

    You can select:

-2 courses from Super Mario Kart
-3 courses from Mario Kart 64
-2 courses from Mario Kart: Super Circuit
-2 courses from Mario Kart: Double Dash
-2 courses from Mario Kart DS
-3 courses from Mario Kart Wii
-2 courses from Mario Kart 7

A reminder of the courses to choose from can be found at:

This is a complete list of courses in the Mario Kart series. In Super Circuit, this cup is a Nitro cup with new courses and is called Thunder Cup. However, the rest of games have the Lightning Cup as a Retro cup. Unlike past Mario Kart titles, Mario Kart 8 introduces paid DLC which consists of both new and retro courses. This DLC was included in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for no additional cost. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has its own paid DLC, the Booster Course Pass, which consists of mostly retro and Mario

For my Super Mario Kart choices I would go with:

    Koopa Beach 1

    Choco Plains 2

They're not as basic as some courses and not heavily featured in the series

Mario Kart 64 I'd go for

    Yoshi Valley

    Royal Raceway

    Frappe Snowland

Mix of themes and all fun but rarely used courses

      And my Super Circuit choices:

      Cheese Land

      Ribbon Road

      Mario Kart Double Dash

      Wario Colliseum

      Sherbert Land

I'd like it if they made the SNES / GBA tracks properly 3D with jumps and hills etc.

          Seaside Route 765. Oh.
          Kept you waiting, huh?

I'd prefer them to reinterpret the Snes/GBA tracks too. Half the time the layouts and shortcuts don't gel well with the new mechanics.

                  And finally, Mario Kart 7

                  Rock Rock Mountain

                  Rainbow Road

Though Wario Shipyard is a fun alternative to Rock Rock
