I know it's Sci-fi and a popcorn movie but being able to go to an Alien Monther ship and send a virus to a mainframe you know nothing about took the pee, never mind having a US president fly in combat LOL. I hated it in the Cinema LOL

What's Kekkashi? I've never heard of it.

It's based on the manga/anime series, there's a ghost castle that no longer exists but the power of the castle still resides there deep underground and now a school is built on the grounds in modern times, any ghosts that come onto the school grounds will be turned into crazy strong monsters by the energy thats residing there. You play as Tokine & Yoshimori who are the 2 youngest kekkaishi barrier users of 2 warring clans in the story. Every evening they have to patrol the school grounds and trap any monsters that appear in cube like barriers then collapse the barrier and absorb the monster that's trapped in it.

They are pretty fun games, you use the control pad to move your character around while also using the touch screen to cast and dispel barriers which can also be used as platforms. There's 2 games on the DS and a 3rd game on the wii, already had the other kekkaishi ds game finally got around to adding the other one. Here's a bit of footage off youtube, easier to show than explain.

                        Lovely
Would love Contra & metal slug but both now sadly well past what I'd consider value for money for boxed copies

                        Hope you enjoy them

Yeah they are annoyingly expensive now, not used to having to pay so much for ds games. Thankfully only 2 left on my list that go for a lot, still after gift of moomin valley that one goes close to £100 for a used copy depending on condition. But it’s a wonderful game and the graphics are really nice. I’ll get it eventually, in the meantime I’m using lunchbreaks at work to get through this new pile of games although contra is kicking my ass I can’t even do the first boss yet.

Thanks. I'll have a look at that. Sounds like an interesting concept. I'd never heard of it, or the manga before.

Couple of "economy shipping" specials turned up that I'd won on the run up to Christmas.

One case has a big crack in it, but I paid something like 74p each so I'm not bothered. They're actually in really good condition and complete apart from that, spine cards and everything. Ignore my phone camera's lame white balance.

You might be more familiar with the European name "Kurushi" that was on that demo everyone had. I had the PAL version, but I gave it to a mate a couple years back as we both got addicted to it playing round his house (we've both clocked it at the highest setting, which is rare for either of us on a puzzler). I intended to pick up Kurushi Final but it goes for a solid £30 now, so I thought I'd get the Japanese versions of both. It was a big seller there so it's super-common and cheap, plus there isn't really any text in the game.

I love the atmosphere of this game, being this little guy floating in the darkness with all these cubes relentlessly booming towards you while orchestral music plays and a voice from above shouts "Fiiirst staaage". I've not had Final before so should be interesting to see what changes (probably not much).

IQ Final is the only version I have, decent game and I like the soundtrack as you mention. I prefer the voiceover on the Japanese version to be honest, it's more 'dramatic' (play IQ Final to see what I mean, in particular the 'perfect!', then compare it to Kurushi Final's voiceover on Youtube).
