I've caned the Craig films, played the boardgame, listened to the soundtrack and I'm getting pizza and beers with my mates beforehand, it's reviewing well and it's going to be a great night!
Going too but it will be a bit later than you. We get it today (October 1st) which is still September 31st in the UK.
I'll be doing the late show which finishes as 11:35pm so the missus will have to pick me up as there are no trains at that time and I'll have a few beers in me by then . She wasn't very impressed though.

        For **** sake!!

The ending has popped up in a YouTube recommendation thumbnail. Not loads but the two images show enough.

        Why. Do. People. Do. This?!

OK, so it's brilliant and I really enjoyed it.
First third absolutely rattles along and it's a real thrill ride.

It's worth watching Spectre first as a refresher as some elements are carried over again.

Watch it ASAP before some tool tells you spoilers.

I'm really pleased I went in as uninformed as possible, so not just the plot, but the stunts and the gorgeous scenery were fresh.

Cinema was packed, which is good for business, but I wore a mask throughout as nobody else seemed to and that's a long time to be in a room with randoms.

So glad to hear that. I'll be enjoying the movie in exactly 1hour and 20 minutes

Just got out of the cinema. This was one fantastic movie. Nods to the old and modern too.
Recommended for sure! Despite the length, not once was I bored.

Would people recommend it for someone like me, who liked Casino, hated Quantum, thought Skyfall was okay - but really, really hated SPECTRE?

Like does it follow on very closely from the events of SPECTRE or is it more its own thing?

It follows on from Spectre, but I guess you just need to know who a few characters were.

Like in the older films, you knew who M and Q were and what they did in previous films, you didn't have to watch Goldeneye to understand the next film.

It's less convoluted than Spectre and it's need to make all the previous films linked, but it's definitely a sequel and it helps to know the characters of Spectre, but not 100% vital.

I'm guessing it's that clunky combining of the all the Craig films that you disliked, because if was the fact there's spies, gadgets, attractive women, fancy cars and nefarious masterminds, then yeah, I'd avoid it!

I respect Chimp and Yakumo's opinions so I'm glad it resonated well. I'm hoping to see this with a friend next week if he's available and hopefully if feels like it wholly takes advantage of the cinema experience.

Make sure your experience is with Dolby Atmos or DTS-X (basically the same thing).

Yeah, I recalled I hated SPECTRE but wasn't sure why; now I remember this was one of the reasons. I hate it when filmmakers try to retroactively reinforce continuity. Harry Potter did it, not the first, but a recenty very high-profile version of it working, and it seemed for a few years loads of stories tried to do it.

Weirdly this is exactly my opinion of the DC era... I almost fell asleep in Spectre.
