    Robot Wars

BBC2 have commissioned a revival of the late 90's battle show Robot Wars. Six new episodes have been greenlit to air late this year. The format sounds to be much like it used to be but the arena beefed up a bit.

Whilst I loved Robot Wars, part of me always felt that it was never quite as good as it should have been.

Too many of the robots pretty much couldn't move, and too many of the rounds/games/bouts ended up with a robot driving into a pit, or getting wedged on something.

I really really hope they change the rules a bit so we have less of the robots just basically designed for flipping others....i found them quite boring

Yeah; maybe they should make it so that if a Robot gets flipped, they just turn it back over. They should have to actually DAMAGE each other, surely that's the point.

It's a farce anyway - these things aren't actually robots

For those thinking of entering, you'll need to read the rules and regs doc (pdf file) http://www.snugglebot.co.uk/docs/rulesnregs.pdf

Disappointing to find out you're not allowed to have a Tesla Coil as a weapon.

I'm really looking forward to the pit lovelies making the nerds feel all awkward when they're interviewing them.
Talking to an actual woman makes them sweat more than the actual combat.

Huzzah for Phillipa, Julia and Jayne!

Imagine if they employed Kelly Brook to interview the nerds. Explosive!

The new presenters have been named.
Might as well leave the thread now if you're a Craig Charles fan...
