They'd be fools to change the formula of the game much. That formula is what makes it a Zelda game.

Unfortunately, whilst I share your overall opinion Brad (I would love to see sequels deviate a lot more than they do these days), the gaming public seems to rail against anything that doesn't look like what they've already played 10 times before. I mean look at the fuss that was kicked up over Lionhead making a Fable game that wasn't Fable 4. Of course, everyone has already forgotten that people weren't happy with Fable 3.

Best example this gen was Cole from Infamous. Game 1, "he looks lame!", game 2 "Why did you change how he looks?!? Change him back!".

Nintendo need to get rid of the padding and slow starts but Zelda doesn't really need to change much. It's all about dungeons, brilliant dungeons.

The padding at the start made Skyward Sword a hard slog for me. But ultimately it was the overly familiar gameplay that led to me to drift away from it and not finish. Not a bad game in any way but I have played it many, many, many times. I'm not sure how many more times I can play the same Zelda game.

I fully expect there's a patient audience waiting for Zelda U, I just doubt it's a big one. There's a sell through of 12-13m WiiU's but I'd wager big chunk of those are out of use or on the second hand market etc. The Wii sold 100m units yet Skyward Sword sold apparently just 3.76m

I do think they need to release it due to the constant reassurances they've given but I think those reassurances were a mistake and the brand is harmed by being so late each gen. The loyal Nintendo audience is now so small it's almost of no bearing to Nintendo, pretty much proven by Nintendo's approach to them too. The companies future rests on winning over the non loyal users, even if it costs them the existing old guard.

A steelbook is such a pointless inclusion for this stuff. I mean it's nice, but I would much prefer an artbook or something along those lines.

Wow, what a total rip-off by Coolshop (never heard of them btw). No way was that the intended RRP!

It's one of the Nintendo Treehouse WiiU prototypes worked up into a full game.

I think It's like a tower defence game, where every tower has a security camera and you can navigate between them.

                    Slippy is the main character.

(wow, that's a sentence I never thought I'd say save for in jest)

It's that Project Guard demo Nintendo was showing off around E3 time only now it's branded. Would be interesting to see how many games come about in this way actually.
Looks like a mini-game that should be included within SF Zero to me, would help sales a little bit maybe?

Ah okay. I only vaguely heard about that Project Guard thing so wasn't all that aware of it.

Ah fair enough, I just did a bit of extra reading on it and you are right.
When watching the Direct video I got the impression it would included with a SE version of Star Fox Zero.
