Part of me feels that we're in collision-course with a showdown, where the two sides are:

• Trump having involvement with a foreign nation secure the presidency (in part by sabotaging the Democrats), where that nation is Russia, and whether his right-leaning crowd hate that, given that lesser things have sank previous Republicans like Nixon
• Trump's right-leaning crowd hunkering down even more in their cognitive dissonance and being able to even put up with that if they have a candidate who appears to stand for the things they do value, i.e. hating the gays, hating the Mexicans, hating the immigrants, hating the muslims, hating abortion, loving guns...

What do they hate more? Russian political meddling or abortion?

American Dad has made the joke a number of times that those "red state" hardcore want to return America back to the 1950s, but not the real 1950s, rather the fictionalised perfect 1950s that only ever existed in movies made after 1972.
