Potential "Shazam," "Aquaman" Sequel Delays? - Dark Horizons
A new report has shot down rumours that Batgirl was on track to be a terrible movie
It has also been rumoured that it's true that Micheal Keaton's third modern appearance in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been cut and replaced with one by Ben Affleck. This vaults a second Keaton Batman appearance leaving only the one in The Flash remaining though here it makes sense as the release schedule for the films places Aquaman before the multiverse is introduced.
There are also rumours that Shazam: The Fury of the Gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are going to have their release dates moved. None are suggested by as Shazam is releasing against Avatar 2 it seems likely Shazam would be pushed back to Aquaman 2's slot and Aquaman 2 would then replace The Flash as a the Summer 2023 release, allowing more time for the Ezra Miller drama to shake out before The Flash sees release.
Still no word on the fate of the already filmed Blue Beetle movie

The new head of Warner Bros has stated that they will be initiating a new 10 year plan for the DC Cinematic Universe and that any film will not see release until the studio is secure that it is a high quality production moving forward. He confirms that upcoming titles such as Black Adam, Shazam: Fury of the Gods and The Flash are definitely still coming whilst calling out Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman as iconic central focus brands for Warner Bros and DC. He refers to what Feige and Disney have done with setting up the MCU as their point of reference for the future of the DCU.

I'm curious what their aim for a reset is given they mention planning one out over the coming decade.
The existing films like Aquaman, Blue Beetle, Shazam and Black Adam all very clearly take place within the 'Snyderverse' timeline with Aquaman having been outed now as having been edited to replace Keaton with Affleck. So, then it leads into The Flash which is the film intended to reset the DCU into timeline B
However, they've axed everything that is based around that timeline. I assume it's because they want Batman, Superman etc to be central focuses and there are two considerations there. One - that other incarnations of the property such as The Batman and Joker aren't canon and aren't going to be running concerns. There will be sequels, maybe third installments but that's it and they've very self contained efforts. Two - that as much as having Keaton involved is notable, he's potentially on call to Marvel's schedule too and is now in his 70's so you can't hang all the wanted output on him.
There had been rumours that one of the versions of The Flash that was tested had Affleck be killed, then Barry changes the timeline which brings Keaton in but by the end of the film further changes introduce a living Affleck again. I would expect that they'll go with this and use The Flash to introduce timelines and multiverse in a soft manner, keeping Affleck around a bit longer. A different future film could then be an event film that properly resets the timeline meaning that Affleck and Gadot's eventual trilogy of WW films all take place in Timeline A before things switch to Timeline B. It would be a handy way too of explaining a switch in focus to Superman again as they've stated they aim to do, recasting and also getting The Flash out the door but for the characters next appearance explaining the casting change 'off screen' to ditch Ezra as well as Heard etc and cleanse the DCU of all these problematic actors.

In a move that has sent shockwaves in the industry, Warner Bros. Pictures has abruptly scrapped any planned release of its “Batgirl” movie which cost $90 million to produce. First reported in The New York Post and subsequently confirmed by the trades and The Wrap, the film will not premiere on any platform at the […]
Dose anyone want to see this even more now, its pretty unprecedented for them to kill of a film like this after test screenings, i really hate all this design by committee bull****, its crazy that they are essentially vaulting this to get the money back on tax, this means they cant use this for anything and it will have to stay sealed, for them to also vault an animated film (Scoob 2) that's fully finished seems pretty crazy too.
