Are Thor and Dr. Strange coming out the same year now? If so that's going to be a lot of Marvel in a short amount of time with the next Spiderman film targeting Nov. 2021(target late August or September next year as that'd be right at the end of the Summer season). They should spread them out more to keep audience fatigue at bay but they're probably prioritising profits which could work against them.

I guess once the world's moving on from Covid that's a chance the dates will be reshuffled once more with one or two of them brought forwards again.

October 2021 to 2022 seems to be the busiest MCU slate there's been yet with 7 films out within 12 months, presumably audience thirst will be there though after the 16 month gap between Spider-Man: Far From Home and Black Widow

The difficulty is that these films can’t shoot. And there will be a backlog of films to shoot and all sorts of knock on effects in the film industry depending on shooting locations and how this all plays out. So any plans are tentative and, really, I don’t think it will all just roll out as planned.

The Cinematic Universe within a Cinematic Universe that if the animated films go there eventually could itself be within a Cinematic Universe!

Well it’s set, Sony’s Marvel film properties have an official name – the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters (SPUMC). In recent times people have been labelling the films – which include “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse,” “Venom,” all the previous Spider-Man films, and some upcoming titles – either the Spidey-verse or the Spider-Man Universe of […]

Somewhat pointlessly the Sony made films are to be referred to as being part of the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Comics.

            Yes.
You can get excited now to witness the company release its SPUMC all over your eyes.

Deadpool character co-creator Rob Liefeld recently revealed that he fears that the “Deadpool” are done. In the wake of the Disney-Fox merger, many have been wondering how the X-Men franchise will be retooled and relaunched under the Disney banner. There’s also been questions regarding how the R-rated “Deadpool” franchise would be impacted by Marvel Studios’ […]

Rob Liefield, creator of Deadpool, says that he's worried that the merger with Disney has killed the Deadpool movies. He says that Feige has nothing planned currently and Marvel's packed slate means there's no room for Deadpool 3 even if it were to spring forward. Reynolds has said they're still working on it.

People REALLY thought Deadpool 18 was going to survive the merger? It’le either never surface again or will get pg’d and ruined.

Yeah; I know which of these two options I prefer.

In honesty, part of me hoped they would stop after 2. Lightning kinda struck twice on this one and I'm concerned the third one won't really work as well.

Celebrated TV director S.J. Clarkson (“Jessica Jones,” “Succession,” “Banshee”) has signed on to develop the first female-centric Marvel film set within the SPUMC (Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters) at Sony Pictures. It’s not clear which character will be the focus, but insiders tell Variety that there is a strong possibility that the film will […]

Sony have hired SJ Clarkson, director on Banshee and Jessica Jones, to helm a female led Sony MCU movie. Sony has repeatedly tried to get a female led film off the ground with previous attempts all stumbling into development hell. No confirmation on the character yet but speculation is it's Madame Web.

                      Who?

I know who she is; just suggesting that most people don't.

I think Sony are just clutching at straws now, I honestly think they should just let all the rites flop back to Marvel/Disney & be done with it.

Look outside the box, go to one of the other book publishers if they simply must have a Super Hero movie.
Robert Kirkman's Invincible from Image/Skybound might work but honestly just give up trying to compete with Marvel now, they had a good run but it's time to leave well alone.

Marc Guggenheim has been hired to pen the script for “Jackpot,” a film about a guilt-ridden crime fighting mom with exceptional strength based on the Marvel Comics title and setup at Sony Pictures as part of the SPUMC like “Venom” and “Morbius”. Guggenheim, who has written episodes of that comic series alongside Brian Reed, has […]

Buckle in, Sony is also working on Jackpot, a film about a guilt ridden superhero mum who fights crime

Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons delighted everyone when he reprised his role of J. Jonah Jameson in Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man: Far From Home”. Simmons played Jameson in the three Tobey Maguire-led “Spider-Man” films, movies that are part of a separate continuity to the previous ones. However, much like Judi Dench retaining the ‘M’ role […]

“Venom” and “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” may have been a big success, but Sony is still moving relatively cautiously with its officially designated Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters (SPUMC). The studio has given the go-ahead to sequels to both those films, and a “Morbius” movie, but one project that fell off the assembly line […]

By the sounds of things the Silver and Black film at Sony was benched because the studio wasn't sure it would work without Spider-Man's involvement in the plot.
