Questions are still looming over the fate of certain franchises due to the recent Disney acquisition of 21st Century Fox, a deal which will require well over a year before being fully completed. One of the obvious talking points is Fox’s Marvel properties and what’s going to happen to all those “X-Men” and “Fantastic Four” […]

X-Force appears to be going ahead and so potentially will become an MCU film given Deadpool is already confirmed to be being incorporated.

Doctor Doom however, that solo film seems to have come to a halt so it seems unlikely to happen now.

Aussie hunk Chris Hemsworth, out doing the first press rounds for the Afghan war tale “12 Strong,” has confirmed he’s finished filming on the fourth “Avengers”. With that complete, he’s now come to the end of his contract with Marvel Studios which leaves his future with the character in question. Now, speaking with IGN, he […]

Hemsworth's contract with Marvel is now over. He remains keen to continue as Thor but for now nothing's set.

Hulu has renewed its young-skewing Marvel series “Runaways” and its wild black comedy “Future Man” for second seasons. Both will get thirteen episodes each, up from the ten “Runaways” had in its first season which wraps this week. “Runaways” follows the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must […]

Menawhile the President of ABC has suggested that a sixth season of Agents of SHIELD remains likely but it continues to seem likely Inhumans won't be renewed

Still half a year out from the release of “Ant-Man and The Wasp,” and one of the film’s stars suggests that a third movie in the franchise is already being lined up. During a interview with IGN UK over the weekend, Michael Pena was asked if he and Chris Hemsworth ever discussed the Marvel Cinematic […]

Pena has also suggested that there has been some discussion on Ant-Man 3

It looks like the solo “Black Widow” movie is finally happening with a new report indicating Jac Schaeffer (“TiMER,” “Nasty Women”) has been hired to pen the project for Marvel Studios. Variety cautions the standalone film is still in the very early stages of development and has yet to receive the green light. However, Marvel’s […]

Word is that Marvel has stopped kicking the can down the road on a Black Widow movie and has someone actively working on it.
Not that fussed to be honest, I can see why they feel more confident in the idea now that Wonder Woman has been a hit but Widow... they'd need to propel that character along a lot for me to care about a solo adventure over using another character instead

I would love a movie about how she met Hawkeye.

We know enough... now, a Hawkeye movie that fills in the time he spent at home with his family working the farm... that's the real event movie

As there isn't yet a rebuilt XCU thread I'll put these X-Men related stories in here, kind of riding out the potential of the series merging.

Gore Verbinski, who had come aboard to direct the long-in-the-works X-Men spinoff Gambit, is pulling off of the 20th Century Fox movie.

Verbinski has added his name to the list of directors to quit the Gambit movie. Given the merger this may sink the project for good but currently it's been knocked back a few months to June 2019.

Here's the first official, boring, image of Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock in Venom

Meanwhile Fox has moved up the release of Deadpool 2 by a fortnight meaning it has one week on the market before Solo launches.

                    Much more curiously?
The New Mutants, the horror X-Men film that's good to go... has been knocked back a whopping ten months to 22 Feb 2019.

Lots of chatter about it all revolving around the theatre schedules but personally it feels like Fox is spreading out the releases so they have the next two years covered without needing to put any more X-Men films into production... basically leading into the time when Disney will be calling the shots and will probably end the franchise in its current form.

'Guardians of the Galaxy 3' writer/director James Gunn confirms once again that the Marvel Studios sequel will hit theaters in 2020.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 is confirmed for 2020, very likely the May slot Marvel has booked

Complete speculation, but here's theory about which character Chris Evans (not the TFI Friday guy) will play in Infinity War.
Spoilered, just in case you don't want to know:

                        http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/the...ns-nomad-hint/
"The rumours have been going around since Captain America: Civil War that Chris Evans would take up a new superhero identity for Avengers: Infinity War.

Steve Rogers was expected to turn to his comic book alter ego Nomad after turning his back on his government, and now Evans and Winter Solider actor Sebastian Stan seem to be hinting that this is indeed the case.

On the photo of a signed Captain America shield posted on Instagram, both actors included 'Nomad' beneath their signatures.

This isn't the first time that Stan has referenced the superhero. The question is whether they are just teasing us or confirming those rumours.

Our first looks at Evans in Infinity War have shown him with a beard and wearing his stealth suit from Captain America: The Winter Soldier rather than his standard blue, white and red threads.

He also abandoned his shield at the end of Civil War after his showdown with Iron Man, so it is fair to assume that he might not be identifying as Captain America any more.

Nomad was the role Steve initially took on in the '70s after becoming disillusioned with the US government.

Whether he does start calling himself 'Nomad' or not, we can rest assured that he probably won't be donning the hero's 'striking' comic book costume.

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo recently wrapped shooting after a year of working back-to-back on Infinity War and Avengers 4.

Robert Downey Jr, Josh Brolin, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen, Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt and Karen Gillan are among the many, many Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy stars who will also feature in the movie.

Avengers: Infinity War will be released in the UK on April 27, 2018, and in the US on May 4, 2018, with the untitled sequel following in 2019."

I could see that happening in Avengers 3 leading into a reversal for Avengers 4

I reckon there is a danger these will go too convoluted. People shouldn’t have had to have seen Cap 3 in order to understand Avengers but Cap 3 went over an edge in terms of plot knowledge required and plot stuff dumped in the movie. This can kill comics and it would be shame to affect the movies too much.

Well that was Cap 3's biggest issue, even though I liked the movie - it was really an Avengers film.
