“The LEGO Movie” directors and “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller have closed a massive nine-figure, five-year deal with Sony Pictures TV. The big selling point of the deal? The pair will develop a Marvel TV universe. This shifts their overall deal from 20th Century Fox following a competitive bidding war […]

Lord and Miller have signed a five year deal with Sony that will include them producing a Marvel TV series. There's a chance it connects to Sony's running plans for its arm of the MCU but expanding the Spider-verse seems more likely

For those who haven't seen the Endgame spoilerific trailer yet:

Kind of feels like they didn't need the big spoilery stuff in there. It doesn't tease all that much about this movie, it just spoils a big Endgame plot point. It's good they put a warning at the start though.

As I mentioned in the Endgame spoiler thread, I admire their marketing department showing incredible restraint when it came to that movie. They really spoiled nothing in any of the marketing.

“Game of Thrones” and “Bodyguard” alum Richard Madden is in talks to join Marvel Studios’ “The Eternals,” taking on the key role of Ikaris. As previously reported, Angelina Jolie and Kumail Nanjiani are also on board. Created by Jack Kirby in 1976, the comic is set millions of years in the past when the cosmic […]

            Amazon are doing an offer of 2 Marvel Blu-Rays for £15 or 2 3D Blu-Rays for £18.

Going to get a few of the newer ones as they're still cheaper than buying from CEX second-hand.

I watched Doctor Strange last night.
I liked the beginning quarter of the film, it had a real human element that allowed Benedict to breath and show some great acting. Once he gets to the temple it starts to rush it. I would have like it to continue a bit more 'Batman Begins' and let him struggle to master the arts. It also lacks any real threat, which is a waste of such a good actor. Still I enjoyed the visuals.

Bruhl played Zemo in ‘Civil War,’ the mastermind who drove a wedge between Captain America and Iron Man which factored into the […]

Don’t know who Emily Vandercamp is but maybe she’ll be better in the role than Emily VanCamp?

I find her strangely wadable. Can’t quite pinpoint why.

Watched Dr Strange on itv2 last night. Still really like it. The credits sequence with Mordo though? Will that be picked up again. It seems so throwaway and forgotten.

We all know that Mordo goes on to become one of Doctor’s great enemies and that Doctor Strange still hasn’t officially met the Vishanti yet, so let’s hope that there is a sequel.

While various Fox-owned franchises are likely to be buried for years to come in the wake of the studio’s acquisition by Disney, one that certainly won’t be is “Deadpool”. Disney has already made it clear that they won’t let that franchise go dormant, but just how Ryan Reynolds’ wisecracking mercenary character Wade Wilson will return […]

A rumour that Marvel is toying with Deadpool appearing in Spider-Man 3, another rumour over the weekend had Sony wanting Venom to appear in that sequel. There's also a rumour of having he character have a Disney+ series but it seems unlikely the character would get buried on a streaming service.

One of the more reliable Marvel movie scoopers isn’t a website but a Twitter account. Going by the name Roger Wardell, the anonymous account joined the Twitter-sphere in December last year when it posted a series of tweets about “Avengers: Endgame” and then vanished. Since then, the contents of those tweets have all proven correct, […]

A leaker who has accurate form so far has added the following updates:

-Deadpool won't appear in MCU movies just as he didn't appear in XCU entries
-Sony is pushing hard for Venom to be in Spider-Man 3
-Marvel is pursuing David Morrissey for one of several Phase 4 roles
-Jericho Drumm and Clea will feature in Doctor Strange 2
-Marvel is laying out early plans for films based on The Black Knight, Thunderbolts, Power Pack and Ms Marvel

While there has been no official announcement at this time, it appears as if production on Marvel Studios’ “Black Widow” movie has gotten underway in Norway with the film going by the cover title of ‘Blue Bayou’. Filming has reportedly been taking place around the village of Saebo with photos and video going online of […]

Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Endgame” closed out with an unexpected new possibility – Thor joining the Guardians of the Galaxy team. With James Gunn returning to the franchise with “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” in 2021, and with no new solo “Thor” film on the horizon, fans are hoping we’ll see Chris Hemsworth’s God of […]

Hemsworth says he'd be open to being in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 however...

The script was done long ago meaning he'd already be booked for it and it starts filming early next year - meanwhile Hemsworth has just announced he's taking a year off from acting to spend time with his family making his inclusion in the film beyond a cameo seem unlikely
