I'm not too surprised, because the screen was very specialised. The 2DS is probably a LOT cheaper for them to make.

Same. If I'd found one last weekend I'd probably have bought it on the spot in fact. I don't want a 2ds because that's basically just a DS as far as I'm concerned. It's the 3D I want!

Same here. It still raises a smile every time I see it.

I'll almost definitely require a backup unit at some point. Urgh..

At least Nintendo still stock the batteries. Those are usually the first things to go.

I know we talk about Switch game prices quite a bit, but the biggest surprise for me is that Pokken Tournament is still £50.

Who is buying it?! Surely that can't have been a success. It didn't seem to raise much attention on WiiU and then the port is £50? I have the demo downloaded, but I played it for about 30 seconds - long enough to see that it's actually quite a complex fighter... Then dropped it because I was concerned I'd struggle to find anyone to play against!

That seems to be the way of many Nintendo systems. I remember this back in the GC days. The games, regardless of whether they were popular or big or small, would retmain high priced until one day they would just be gone. So they never reached the ‘I might take a punt’ audience. I get that they probably like to retain their value but I honestly think it contributed to some series just never reaching the audience they could have.

The thing is, I don't really resent Nintendo for this when it's stuff like Mario Odyssey or their mainline, tentpole games. I actually like that there's some security in the purchase, instead of buying a game for £30 one day and finding it on Steam for £2.99 a month later. But Pokken?!

Used is barely an option with cex charging more than new prices! X

As someone who supported the Wii U and bought 30 titles, it annoys me slightly that these games that I have are returning -sliiiightly- enhanced. Do i double dip or no? I will for Hyrule Warriors as I didnt play it and it has the DLC but captain toad? I do love it but still!

I bought 3 Wii U's! Only 27 physical games though.

Will no doubt buy them all again.

That's why I bought wiiu bayonetta off teddy Vs slightly enhanced switch version. If bayonetta 3 is good then I'll get that natch.

I agree it's probably a punch in the stomach to the people that supported the wiiu as nintendo slowly ports the catalogue of games to the switch/3DS however it also means that there is a second chance for some of those games to shine as lets face it the wiiu was a failiure and a lot of those games were deprived the attention they really deserved.

The only one left from the wiiu that i really want to see is super mario 3D world but i'm not sure if Nintendo will port that one as then it will be competing with odyssey but i would love to see it.

I prefer 3D World to Odyssey. I have a Switch but the WiiU (set up in a different room) is going nowhere.

My WiiU is sat on my games shelves now, with my other consoles that aren't currently connected to the TV. If I was at all handy I might consider cutting a hole in the back of the bookcase so I could keep it plugged in. That way I could just use it like a handheld, which would be quite cool. I'm not really sure if it's worth the bother though, I've played everything on it really. Except p'raps the Kirby's Magic Paintbrush sequel and Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. The former won't ever be ported I assume, as it can't be played in TV mode, so I ought to get it really.

On the topic of Switch, I tried the Star Allies demo. It's...OK. It feels like it'd be fun with four players, but not sure about it with only two.
