The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part opened to an international total of $52.5m. The figure was heavily lower than projections marking a major stumble for the franchise. Much of that hit came from the US and whilst The Lego Batman Movie 2 has been green lit and there will likely be more movies, Warners will likely review their approach.
Costing $20m to make, What Men Want opened to $19m. The remake faced poor reviews but thanks to its low cost is on course to avoid suffering too much.
Meanwhile, Neeson's Cold Pursuit proved critics wrong by benefitting from last weeks controversy and defying some predictions in delivering $10.8m which exceeded original projections.
Aquaman opened in its final country, Japan, and now sits on $1.12bn. It will overtake the third Transformers movie this week to become one of the twenty highest grossing movies of all time.
This week the main release is the sequel Happy Death Day 2U
