CEX won't factor in GfK figures becuase it's all secondhand. But with so few space on shelves for new physical games even etailors like Amazon aren't stopping the shift to digital.

Surprised how CeX are still growing despite their ridiculous prices on most secondhand stuff.

They could easily hit 150m if they lowered the price.

Xbox One - Est. 41.0m units
            Nintendo Switch - 22.86m units

Being reported on Era that digital revenue for XBO far exceeds the other two systems but hardware sales have progressed very little and currently have only risen to 41m

It's being suggested that Digital sales per user are far higher on Xbox not that that digital revenue is greater as a whole.

              A few points though:
              • It's not clear if that's worldwide or US-only data.
              • Probably includes Microsoft Store revenue from Windows 10 given MS has been including those figures in their Gaming numbers.

Given that Sony only converts about a third of it's PSN MAU's into paying consumers that (34.8m) Microsoft probably only has a third to a half of paying Xbox Live Gold Subscribers as Sony (one of the reasons it hasn't published these numbers for 3/4 years). PlayStation Network digital revenue probably is still probably much, much higher than Xbox Live. But Xbox has services like EA Access and Game Pass that encourage users spending more on digital.

My gut feeling is that it probably covers most of the XB picture. Given the briskness of the PS and NS I'd be surprised if the Xbox One isn't largely hitting fumes point in most territories where Xbox hasn't previously had a strong loyal userbase.

If you mean 'includes Windows PC games revenue' - then I agree. Also given ZhugeEX rarely talks detail (understandable) it could simply be that be a figure like 20, 30 or 50%. And that's what's meant by 'I really need to stress how large the digital shares are on Xbox compared to other platforms'.

Also it's clear that MS is doing very badly outside of UK/US. And by comparison just how well it did in those territories with its previous generation console.

The irony that MS is possibly the best placed to start moving away from traditional console generation models yet the one most in need of one to try and wipe the XBO's struggles clean off the slate

NVIDIA today updated its financial guidance for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2019, reflecting weaker than forecasted sales of its Gaming and Datacenter platforms.

Nvidia looks to have finally pushed GPU fans too far as RTX sales disappoint

Nintendo bossed the Christmas sales season with an impressive set of hardware and software sales - but this still wasn'…

Big success for Nintendo on nearly every front over Xmas

-Hardware sales up 20% year on year
-Software sales up 100% year on year
-Super Mario Party hit 5.3m units sold
-Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Evee hit 10m units sold
-Super Smash Bros Ultimate hit 12.08m units sold in just one month

The one dark spot though is that Nintendo has had to finally admit defeat on its 20m sales target for hardware sales. They have now revised their full year projection down to 17m units, the system having sold 15m units in the current year so far.

Elsewhere, the 3DS is clearly winding down. 2m units sold over Xmas with that being a 60% drop on last year.

And from Nintendo's financials update another juicy tidbit:

                          Playstation 4 - 91.6m units
Xbox One - Est. 41.0m units
                          Nintendo Switch - 32.27m units

OI feel like MS are now just selling a small number of expensive machines to enthusiasts.

What a result for Nintendo on software at Xmas. The attach rates of these games are insane. A third of Switch owners buying Pokemon and/or Smash....wow.

Yup, apparently the main takeaway from the data for Nintendo is that their first quarter for the Switch was very weak which helped evidence that without high profile first party releases coming out every quarter (the WiiU ports didn't drive hardware) the system tails off quick. Given the release schedule ahead it will presumably stumble again in this last quarter and the first quarter of the 2019/2020 financial year as Switch is very dry on that front looking forward.

Xbox One - Est. 41.0m units
