Fuller Talks "Crystal Lake" Rights, Budget - Dark Horizons
Interestingly, Brian Fuller has discussed the rights issues surrounding the just announced Crystal Lake series. Apparently the show will take a similar prequel-remake approach as Hannibal but will have five times the budget of that show. Three seasons have been mapped out but the show could run further and he confirms that they have the rights to use any and every element related to the Friday the 13th franchise meaning Jason can appear. It seems that the issues relating to the rights that remain are about movies meaning the show sidesteps those problems. He also says that in a world where Crystal Lake: Season 10 exists... he would totally Jason X it.
