If they're wise, they'll call it Nine 2 Five... or Nine 2 Five 2 Furious

Demian Bichir is set to join Andrea Riseborough in the reimagining of the horror classic “The Grudge” for Sony Pictures. The original 2004 American version starred Sarah Michelle Gellar as an exchange student who moves to Tokyo and finds herself tormented by spirits of the dead. The new take is expected to go darker and […]

Following 2009’s reboot starring The CW alum Jared Padalecki and Danielle Panabaker, attempts have been made in recent years to do yet another reboot of the iconic 1980s slasher franchise “Friday the 13th”. Now, speaking with JoBlo, Platinum Dunes producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form have revealed that they are dead-set on making the new […]

The guys behind the Friday the 13th Re-Reboot are still hoping to make the movie but it doesn't sound like it'll be anytime soon. This is the version where Jason didn't die as a child, he was stuck on an island for some reason and his Dad was the killer in Part 2.

Universal Pictures has won a competitive bidding war against Sony Pictures and Netflix for the film rights to Stephen King’s novel “The Tommyknockers”. The story focuses on a woodland town in Maine where long buried and recently unearthed alien spacecraft begins releasing an invisible gas that starts transforming the town’s population into a hive-minded group […]

Universal held its CinemaCon presentation today and a full description of the “Halloween” trailer that was screened is up at io9. The clip reveals that what sets things off is someone making a documentary about a murderer – Michael Myers. They visit Myers in an institute and show him the mask to try and provoke […]

Paramount has apparently shown off the trailer for Halloween for which a synopsis of it is out. The set up for the film, that only considers the original canon, seems to be:

Sometime after the end of the original film Michael Myers appears to have been apprehended and incarcerated in an institute. Decades later a documentary maker is making a film focused on the murder spree and visits Myers for footage. During the interview he tries to provoke a reaction from Myers by showing him his old mask. The trailer then cuts to Laurie's granddaughter explaining that Laurie is not related to Myers and, traumatised her whole life, has been preparing for his return the entire time. Myers escapes and a new murder spree begins with Laurie aiming to finally kill Myers in a booby trapped house.

Fede Alvarez has said he remains keen on making a direct sequel to the Evil Dead remake from a few years back. Again, pointless in a post-Ash world.

                              Agreed.
There are plenty of gruesome horror films, but only one Ash.

Obviously, I'm not including his evil doppelgänger.

The director of Friday the 13th Part IX: Jason Goes to Hell is planning a spin-off based on that films character Duke. He hopes to enter production later this year though the film would not contain any direct references to the Jason films.
