Reviews are hitting for next months replacement sequel Halloween and they're coming in strong.
The problem I have with this new Halloween is that it seems to be Laurie Strode Vs. Michael Myers and for franchise-sakes, it's kinda obvious who will survive.

    I hope I'm wrong though.

On one hand I don't mind the set up even if it stretches things a little, but on the other hand it would take very little for a tale of a survivor preparing for the return of her stalker to become Home Alone

Reviews out of the Toronto International Film Festival for the new “Halloween” have been quite strong, so much so that talk of a sequel is already churning. Of course the film, a direct sequel to the 1978 original that ignores the seven other sequels, has to open first and be a success. Additionally there’s the […]

“Friday the 13th” screenwriter Victor Miller has prevailed in a legal battle over the franchise. Miller aimed to take advantage of a provision of copyright law that allows authors to terminate a grant of rights and reclaim ownership 35 years after publishing. The film’s producers alleged that Miller wrote “Friday the 13th” as a work-made-for-hire […]

The long running lawsuit over the rights of the Friday the 13th franchise has finally ended with the rights being awarded to the writer of the original film. Hold the celebrations however as no new films can be made still in case there's a second case over who has rights to the character of Jason.

Cassandra Peterson’s iconic character Elvira has been the subject of two films, both of which were some time ago. Yet the former horror host with a unique look and personality remains very popular with horror fans, so much so Peterson has expressed a desire to bring back the character once again for a new film. Constantin Film is reportedly planning a remake of the West Virginia cannibal film franchise “Wrong Turn” which kicked off in 2003 with a film release via 20th Century Fox. Robert Kulzer will produce. The new take follows a cross-country hiking expedition by a group of friends in the land of an inclusive society. They soon […]

Filmmaker John Carpenter has seemingly teased the possibility of a follow-up to his iconic 1988 feature “They Live”. The 1950s-inspired but 1980s set paranoia sci-fi tale starred Roddy Piper as a drifter who finds sunglasses that reveal the ‘real world’ – aliens are already living amongst us and use subliminal techniques to enforce subjugation. Famed […]

Who used to do the horror marathons where they watched a different horror film every day over October?

I think it was lost in The Purge.

My missus still insists on watching one a day over the course of the 5 days leading up to Halloween but because we watch the big releases over the course of the year as they're released and so much else is trash tier we really struggle to come up with stuff now having watched everything in previous years to the point of over familiarity.

                                We're looking at:

                                -It: Chapter One
                                -Deep Blue Sea 2
                                -The Ritual
                                -The Shining
                                and one other tbc

But in all seriousness - Everyone should spend it watching The Haunting of Hill House - Everyone. Now. Go.
