Bruce Campbell has effectively laid his iconic “Evil Dead” character Ash Williams to rest. The chainsaw-wielding protagonist of Sam Raimi’s comedy-horror series seemingly hung up his mantle last year after three seasons of “Ash vs. Evil Dead”. That said, the actor will still pop up in ancillary media in the near future and promises the […]

Bruce Campbell says he's still done playing Ash in films and TV but that plans are for The Evil Dead to continue as a property without him. There's long been on hold talk about following up the reboot so maybe...

In one of the most unexpected pairings of recent times, Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures have announced that they’re reviving the “Saw” horror franchise with a new entry, one with a story conceived by comedian Chris Rock and said to be something of a reimagining. Joe Drake, Chairman of Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group, says in a […]

Additionally, apparently Chris Rock has become involved in another attempt to restart the torture porn franchise with what we'll refer to for now as Saw IX. The follow up/reimagining is already slotted in for release on 23 October 2020

Universal Pictures and Blumhouse have announced a March 13th 2020 release date for “Upgrade” director Leigh Whannell’s new take on H.G. Wells’ “The Invisible Man”. The new date puts the project up against Warner’s “Godzilla vs. Kong,” the fourth and last film in the ‘MonsterVerse’ movies, and exploits a date that Jordan Peele’s “Us” opened […]

It looks like the original Candyman will appear in the new one after all. Last year came word that filmmaker Jordan Peele is set to produce a refresh of 1992 cult horror franchise “Candyman” for MGM and Universal Pictures. That original, an adaptation of Clive Barker’s short story “The Forbidden,” starred Virginia Madsen as a […]

Tony Todd will appear in Candyman IV, it's unknown who as though

Did you guys even have The Banana Splits in the UK? If you didn't, go look up the original intro for a hint of what it was. It was a children's variety show with big funny characters. Plenty of slapstick and silliness. Probably from the late 60s early 70s maybe but I saw it in the 70s.

Anyway... now they have made a film and it's not quite what you'd expect from a children's show:

After watching the entire run of Ash vs Evil Dead I can understand why Campbell is done with it. It started really well but became pretty average as it went on. It lost the hard edge it started with and lost some of the edgy humour too ... it ended up as pretty much Buffy with more blood. It did have Lee Majors in it though ... so that was cool.

But Evil Dead without Ash ... that's a bold move. I'm not sure there's enough there without him.

When the recent “Halloween” revival not only drew good reviews but $255 million worldwide box-office on a $10 million production budget, you can bet a sequel and the return of Michael Myers was inevitable. Multiple sources tell Collider that Blumhouse’s “Halloween 2” is gearing up to start shooting after Labor Day with Universal to likely […]

I quite enjoyed the Evil Dead 'remake'. If they did more I'd watch them.
As for Paranormal Activity 7, I have seen all but the latest one (because I heard its crap). I'd be happy if they did one like number 3, its probably the best one.

3 was definitely the best, downhill from there and PA6 was awful but it also completely showed and explained everything meaning there's nothing left for a literal sequel to cover too.

Evil Dead's remake I wasn't keen on, it wasn't bad but without Ash there's just nothing to the films to care about. I can easily imagine a new film would be a belated sequel to the remake as they've been keen on that for ages but now the series is done I'd be happy seeing it left alone now.

The James Gunn-produced superhero horror movie “Brightburn” opened earlier this year and pulled in $31 million from a $6 million budget, and that’s despite mixed reviews. Now, Gunn himself has confirmed over on Instagram that talks have already begun for a sequel. Asked this weekend by a fan if he could direct a “Brightburn 2,” […]
